What do you think? Is it sound?
As you can see lot's of Straighterline courses. This is because I am currently in Australia and can only do the CLEPS/DSST's during a few trips to Japan.
Thanks in advance for feedback!

So far I have finished just ALEKS intermediate algebra.

Here is a breakdown of cost as it is. Giving myself 2 months for ALEKS, 3 months to complete 15 Straighterline courses and taking the info lit class at excelsior:

Online courses:

ALEKS $40
SL $50x15 +$100x3 - $50(promo) =$1000

56 credits = $1040

Tests:

ECE $200
CLEP $600
DSST $600

60 Credits = $1400

Excelsior:
Tuiton Per Credit: $425 x 4

4 Credits = $1700

Application: $80
Enrollment: $1015
Graduation fee: $485

Fees = $1580

Total = $5720

Additionally SL boasts up to $200 discount on tuition for excelsior, but I haven't looked into it.

At first glance, it looks good. Great job! You are planning depths in math and history.

Are you allowed to take the 3 free NFA credits to add to your ACE transcript?

Just double check ALEKS, SL, and Penn Foster. Here are some links to get you started:

I was told by my advisor that SL is fine as long as it is ACE approved for the category needed, but the SL to EC transfer site had not been updated appropriately the last time I looked. Just get any of those issues confirmed.

One person was told that Penn Foster was not allowed any more. I don't know if anyone else has had the same problem.

I hope that helps!

Thanks ACE! That helps a lot.

I need will try to get some of these changes confirmed then I'll update my plan.
Most of the potential changes appear to be to make things a bit easier for me!
There are some indeed ACE approved SL courses that do not appear on the transfer site.
Did you find Excelsior to be responsive to questions like these prior to enrollment by any chance?

You're welcome!

I didn't really try, since I was able to get most of the info I needed about degree planning through the members of this forum.

These do seem like issues that the admissions office would have knowledge about. Other forum members may have first-hand experience, too. It would also help to know who is responsible for keeping the SL transfer page up-to-date. Accurate info would be valuable to your plan.

I have updated my plan tentatively including a cost breakdown. I definitely need to confirm acceptance of the all the straighterline courses.
But it may be worth a look for those interested in a Liberal Arts degree, it's definitely on the cheap side and I don't expect too much trouble completing any of these courses.

I was able to get EC to "clarify" some issues with transfer credits. But they were quite specific that I would have to enroll "to take advantage" of their "advising" function.

You know that the US consulate in Perth administers cleps and dssts.
Set yourself goals, not limitations
