Since you have a lot of transfer credits, it would be best to apply to all of the Big 3 to see which one will give you, not only the most transfer credits, but also the most upper level credits. I could be wrong, but if your course was 100/200 level at the original college, then COSC and EC will likely only give you lower level credits. TESC doesn't care. If the course title and description match an upper level course in their PLA database, then you will get upper level credit. If you attended a community college, there are limits on how many of those credits will transfer.

You also might want to talk with Northern Arizona University about their online Computer IT degree.

Thank you for your suggestions! I would like to get some more information before I request transcripts be sent to all three, as I have to pay per transcript and per application. I am really just wondering which would be the fastest. Also, what about an associates degree? I would definitely do it, just to have something under my belt. Any suggestions? I am currently enrolled at a local CC and lack 7 classes for an Associates in CIT, but it will take me another year or more to get that done and I was wanting to be done a bit quicker. Being in school for 6 years with nothing to show for it is not fun...

COSC only has associates programs in general studies. EC and TESC have associates programs specific to IT. All of EC's degree programs require a capstone. TESC's ASAST in Computer and Information Technology does not have a capstone. TESC's AAS in Computer Studies would be the most flexible, but it has a capstone.

You may apply for Excelsior - Computer technologies and TESC BSAST Information Technology programs to find out how many credits can be transferred in. TESC BSAST IT does not have capstone requirement where as EC requires capstone.

BSAST Degree in Information Technology | Thomas Edison State College

thanks

Technically, it does have a capstone even though it's not called one. You have to take Current Trends and Applications at TESC.

So if I try for the Applied Computer Studies degree, based on the courses I've already taken, it would appear as though I could basically just take the capstone and graduate? Am I missing something?

I didn't try to match up your general education courses, but if you have all of those, then it looks like all you will have left is the capstone.

Do you think that the Associate in Science in Technology (Computer Technologies) degree from Excelsior would be about the same?

I ask because it seems like Excelsior would be about half the cost of TESC for me. Any insight?

Thanks!
