PF Accounting Certificate to Excelsior

I'm a long time lurker here and need some help. I currently have 30 credits via Straighterline and ~24 credits via B & M. I applied to Excelsior and want to know if its possible to take Penn Foster undergrad accounting certificate for credit? I may try sub out a couple classes from the undergrad certificate (Dont need intro to business and couple other classes). I dont think I am going to take the CPA exam - I currently work for my local government and I am trying to move up the ladder either within the department or outside and I dont see any jobs asking for a CPA.

Does Excelsior have a cap on credit via Penn Foster/ACE? I understand all credit need to be ACE as well as updated and almost all classes are listed as current (minus Computer Applications in Accounting, it says current but the date is 3/11?).

I am also going to finish via CLEP/DST although I am looking into taking a couple classes with ECE for audit/tax classes. I did look into TESC but was very put off when I called and tried to ask a couple of questions. Should I wait for the eval from ECE or should I just go ahead with the classes? I am unsure of the process. Thanks for the help!

Excelsior does not have a cap on PF/ACE classes. You need to be careful on the Accounting certificates from PF, they offer 2. One of them is the good one, containing upper level classes and other one is pretty much worthless. I don't think they transfer credit for the certificates but they will do so for their degree programs. So probably your best bet is to enroll in the Accounting associates degree and transfer what you have from Straighterline or just pay for the certificate and retake the classes you already have. The advantage of using PF is that you can actually get letter grades if you send EC the PF transcript while with SL you will only get P/F.

oh and I forgot.. with 60 graded credits and the right GPA you can get honors at EC

From my understanding, the undergraduate certificates from Penn Foster College are college credit. The career diploma or career certificates from the Penn Foster Career School are just CEUs.
