Penn Foster
#1
I'm currently enrolled in the Penn Foster High School program and I am very happy so far. Penn Foster is both national and regional accredited by the DETC and Middle States of Association. They are accredited by one of the 6 accreditation body in the US.

This may sound like a noob question, but I'm curious if the Southern States of Association would recognize this diploma. I'm from Charlotte, North Carolina and I have looked into some of the colleges that does accept a Penn Foster H.S. diploma. I really want to get into CPCC because it's the only college in my city that is close to where I lived. All the others are just too far. And CPCC is a regionally accredited community college in Charlotte.

That said, would a regional accredited college accept a Pen Foster H.S. diploma? I don't see why they wouldn't, since Penn Foster High School is regional accredited, except their college courses which is national accredited. However, I believe most of their college courses are ACE approved.

Would it make any difference if it's Middle States or Southern States? Or would a Middle States only apply to that region as far as job wise? Would employer in the Southern States recognize a diploma that is in the Middle states? I'm just confused about this. Thanks for answering.

I don't know if that college will accept a Penn Foster high school diploma, but employers and colleges in all regions accept regional accrediting bodies from all regions. This one guy told me that the marines would not accept his PF high school diploma, so he had to earn college hours. He enrolled in a local community college which is accredited by the SACS. I don't know if he got correct information or not from his recruiter.
