Penn Foster to TESC for BSBA
#1
I'm pursuing the BSBA General Management degree at TESC and just had a few questions about the classes at Penn Foster and transferring them. Sure, I could ask TESC, but everyone on this forum seems so helpful. Smile

I only have one class left that I can transfer from a community college. Do the Penn Foster classes transfer as CC classes or regular university classes?

I have an accounting/finance class and a marketing class left to take in my concentration. I was considering taking Consumer Behavior for the marketing, but does anybody have any recommendations on which accounting or finance class is the best to take from Penn Foster? I've read very mixed things on the different finance/accounting classes on here. Anything else I should know before enrolling in classes at Penn Foster for transfer?

I've currently transferred everything in and hope I won't have to take any classes or tests from TESC. What does everyone do about their GPA or tell future employers what their GPA is in this situation? Has anyone had any problems with this? Thanks for the help!

I can only recall some government employers asking for a GPA and they tell applicants to estimate their GPA when they don't have an official one. Not having an official GPA from TESC, however, can make it hard to get a teaching certification in some states. As far as PF, since managerial and financial accounting are required, the only ACE-evaluated accounting courses I know of are Cost, Intermediate I, and Intermediate II. Managerial Accounting at Straighterline is transcribed as Cost Accounting by TESC. It would be cheaper than PF if you finish in one month and you wouldn't have to wait for materials to be mailed. It wouldn't make sense to take Intermediate Accounting II if you haven't already taken Intermediate Accounting I. Hold on. I think PF might also have a federal taxation course, but I'm not sure. That can be taken as a TECEP for $99.

Neither. PF classes, only those which are currently ACE-approved, will transfer to TESC as "assessments" like ALEKS, FEMA, etc. This is because PF has DETC accreditation and not regional, so TESC like most RA schools snubs them on that account. But they will accept their courses if ACE approves them, just not as being like regular college classes.
