Penn State

I check the Penn State world campus site now and again, and I noticed they are launching 2 new degrees. BA and BS in Psychology- totally online. There are some barriers- first it's expensive at around $400 per credit. (your looking at nearly $50,000 plus books) Second, they take CLEP and DANTES- but only in a very limited capacity- they do have a CLEP policy chart. Third, if you want the BA (as opposed to the BS) you need 12 foreign language credits  I think it said 36 credits had to be through them, the rest could transfer (I would be careful, it is very specific about transfer) Anyway, certainly a prestigious degree option.

I am looking at the Penn State Masters in Project Management as my first choice right now. Books and Tuition will run about $13K for the two year program. Not cheap by any means, but certainly a good program.

First things first, 3 more CLEPS and a CAPSTONE Finance class to finish off my Strayer BBA

I live in PA, so I know what this degree would mean for me. I am seeking a Masters in Business Administration, and I am pretty sure I could do this completely online with them. I am close to finishing my BS/BA (three more classes!), and am looking to start an MBA program in July. I am really trying to decide whether I should go for CCU or Penn State. There is definitely a significant price difference, but I wonder if it would behoove me more to go with Penn State, since it is more well known in my area. Decisions, decisions....

I would say it depends what you plan to do with your degree. Penn State is considered to be in the class of Ivy League schools. If you plan to work for a company that is concerned about the name of the school you graduated from, you might want to go to Penn State.

If your employer is only concerned that you have graduated and doesn't care about the name of the school, then perhaps CCU will get you a degree that is accredited, can be completed relatively quickly and within your budget.

Good luck.

Another consideration is the quality of the education and the network of people that you are going to connect with through the program.
