Principles of Accounting

Hi...
I had a question about the Principle of Accounting CLEP. Have any of you taken this CLEP exam, and passed? If so, was the instantcert guide on this subject enough to not just pass, but get a decent score onthe exam? If not, what other sources were of help in your studying? I always hear that this is a difficult exam overall, so any answers will be of much help here. Thanks.

I took this exam last year and passed with a 64. I had previously taken Accounting 1 in an online course, but wanted to pick up Accounting 2 with the CLEP. I would definately use instacert and at least Barrons Business Library "Accounting". I would say that would be sufficient. If you are completely unfamiliar with Accounting, I would also recommend Standard Deviants "Accounting" as well. Your worst enemy on this exam is time. Go thru all the questions that you can answer quickly first, then go back and get the ones that require calculation. I barely had enough time to answer all the questions, and guessed at a few. Check with your testing center about the use of a calculator- mine would not allow one, but I think that they may have been wrong about not letting me use one. Its a very do-able exam. You just have to be able to work rather quickly and be sure to answer all of the questions- even if you have to guess. Good Luck with it.
