Principles of Finance
#1
I'm planning out my BSBA gen management for TESC. What are all the available resources for principles of finance? Only 2 are listed in the Wiki-Uexcel and DSST. Are there others? Any opinions on any of them?

I second PF. All open book (ebook) so no formulas to memorize.

Does the PF course require a proctored final exam?

I'm taking the final for this course now. The exams are fairly difficult (I think some of the questions/answers aren't clear in the textbook, and I have not been able to figure out the calculator at all, so I've been using online calculators). But I'm at a 96 in the class before the final due to being able to retake the quizzes once each (they take the highest score). You can print out the exam, work on it, then go in and take it online. Then you get a score, and find out which questions are marked incorrect, and can go back, look those up, and retake the exam.

I like being able to work on things when I have the time. I think I probably spend 4-5 hours per section/quiz, plus another hour or so looking up the answers that I got wrong. I think you could finish in 6 days if you worked at it. I don't have the time to do it that quickly, but I know some people are able to dedicate more time and get it done even more quickly than that.

You print out the final exam, do the problems, and then email it in when you're done.

This is not an "easy" class in my estimation, but I like the format, PF was very easy to get signed up with, and I think I would have to spend the same amount of time studying for the DSST exam if I were to take that instead. I would take another PF course in the future.

There's Propero Introduction to Finance too, but that's $299. No proctored final exam from what I understand. It's in the Alternative Credit Project list for TESU as transferring as Principles of Finance FIN301
