Question about DSSTs
#1
Hi, all!

I'm hoping to take the Art of the Western World DSST this week, but I have a couple questions:

Is it paper-based or computer-based?

and

How much will it cost minus the administration fee (or whatever it's called)?

Obviously it's my first DSST. The research I've done this morning hasn't given me any definite answers to either of those, and I'd rather know before I scheduled the test. Wink

Thanks!

Not all of them are computer based, I have taken both- also, the prices change from time to time. The fastest and most accurate thing to do is call over to the testing center where you plan to go and ask.
*if it's paper, you can't take it until they order it, so if that's the case, you'll need to make sure that it has arrived ahead of your apt time.

Good luck!!!!!

Another question from someone who's never taken a DSST...how are they scored? Is it up to 80 like the CLEP?

It depends on the test. The new, refreshed versions have a 400 passing score.

There was a pretty interesting thread a while back that had some info on how they come up with the actual score. I'm on the way out the door otherwise I'd find it for you, but if you search my posts you'll probably find it.
