Question on Saylor and ACE
#1
I'm looking at finishing my degree this year and I'm about to pull the trigger on getting setup on InstantCert along with some other material and decided to review the forums. I didn't know about Saylor before yesterday and was really wanting to take advantage of it since they have some interesting classes. The question I have is how many of the classes does ACE accept? I'm looking at taking several of the Computer Science classes (some for my degree and some just because they look interesting). Provided is a list of the ones I'm interested in

CS401: Operating Systems
CS402: Computer Communications and Networks
CS403: Intro to Modern DB Systems
CS410: Advanced DB

I went to the accent.edu site site and did a search in the National GUIDE but only saw two classes from the Saylor Academy.

I only see the two Saylor courses approved by ACE. A Bio class and Gen Chem I. ACE CREDIT | The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training

There are other ways to get credits for Saylor courses but I don't see any of those courses on the list. Earn College Credit | Saylor Academy

That's right, 2 ACE, 9 NCCRS for a current total of 11.

Other courses are "credit aligned" with TECEP's or EC courses...so working through the Saylor in those cases should prepare one to take the corresponding CBE for credit.

Comes down to where your hoping to use the credit...the Big three take ACE and NCCRS, and of course the TECEP's and EC's are acceptable to all three as a general rule.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.
