So, now I've completed all of the Sophia classes that I can do that will transfer to my degree. I'm just waiting on Communication at Work touchstone I just submitted, still waiting on the first paper of English Comp to be finished, and unfortunately I didn't realize live chat wasn't open on weekends or I would've done Foundation of Statistics before doing Communication at Work. I'll be able to knock that one out soon enough though.
I'm now looking onto SDC for the remainder of the classes I can transfer in. I'd like to know if anyone recommends a certain order of doing these classes or which ones are likely to be easy to knock out quickly when I first start SDC. Here's a list of the classes I need to take and you can give your opinions if you care to. Also, these are all for transfer to WGU BS Software Development degree.
English 305: Advanced Technical Writing
Political Science 102: American Government
Computer Science 108: Introduction to Networking or CS 202: Network and System Security
Computer Science 109: Introduction to Programming or CS 112: Programming in C++ or CS 115: Programming in Java
Computer Science 201: Data Structures & Algorithms
Business 107: Organizational Behavior
Taking in secession as recommended:
Computer Science 107: Database Fundamentals
Computer Science 204: Database Programming
Computer Science 303: Database Management
Recommended to just do WGU class instead of:
Humanities 201: Critical Thinking & Analysis

- Skip Humanities 201: Critical Thinking & Analysis. It's got multiple written assignments vs just doing one simple test at WGU.
- Take all 3 database courses in short succession as there will be a lot of overlap.
- take BUS107 instead of BUS307 to avoid extra writing assignments.

Great, thank you for this information. Do you know if any of the SDC classes require a certain grade % to get WGU credit that is above the SDU pass/fail requirement? I was googling and found at least one case where someone said you had to get a higher % for WGU to accept it, though I think it was for an accounting degree. It might also be old information, I'm not sure.

You get 3 tries on the final exam so you could go back and retake an exam if you ever need a minimum score.
Take Introduction to Programming before Data Structures & Algorithms because you need to learn Java first before you are able to write a program using Java in Data Structures & Algorithms for the assignment.
WGU Software I & II is Java-based and the bulk of the degree so plan on getting very comfortable using Java.
This guy did WGU's software development degree in 6 months, provides some useful tips http://carnes.cc/wgu.html

Thanks for the added information.
Alright, I'll just speed through them then for passing and then come back to them if I ever need a higher score.
I actually found that website of the guy that did the degree in 6 months but saw it was in 2016 so there's likely a bit that's changed since.
Thanks for the recommendation on order as I wasn't sure what order would be best to go for them all. I definitely plan to learn Java pretty well for this course.

Why would I skip a $630 way of getting 29 credits that could possibly make me go a second semester into WGU? I'd rather increase the odds of a single semester to graduate. I'm going to be working, so it's unlikely I'd do the rest without the transfer credits in a single semester and I'd rather risk wasting $630 than risk spending another semester of tuition.

I agree, there's less risk in taking credits at a provider like Study.com, and then transferring them in; but some people plan on just doing an additional term at WGU; it may turn out to be less per credit than Study.com. But, it's a risky move.
Each person has to weigh the costs, and do an analysis of how they want to do the degree. 1 term at WGU for 30cr is very doable, with those long 6-mo terms. But once you start needing more than 30cr, it starts to get less and less doable for some. I personally would rather bring in the max credits, even if it ends up costing a bit more per credit, in order to maximize my chances of getting done in a single term.

Yeah, I've already mapped out my WGU semester pretty thoroughly. I'm reasonably sure that I can complete it in 2 months even being busy, with what I'll be transferring in. I have reddit posts linked for each course with people's advice who have successfully accelerated through each of the classes to reference for tips. I'd rather finish early than add on more time also. I'm a bit busy with work for the next 3 months, but I'm certain I can knock out 3 classes a month on SDC while working... so it's also a time saving factor for me as opposed to throwing 9 classes onto my WGU plan that'll make me do another even month to get the degree. I value that month extra as being more valuable than $630 as I'll be re-connecting with employers that I've talked to recently wanting to interview me and let them know that I'm working on my degree and will be finished shortly. I could easily lose an opportunity taking an extra month if whichever company found someone in the meantime.
