SEJPME I AND II

So for all you military people who are planning to go to TESU and have taken the SEJPMEs now EJPMEs recently, there has been a change where it no longer goes on the JST. If you still want credit for those courses print out the certificate and transcript from JKO have it notarized and mailed to TESU.

It took like 7 emails between 4 different entities and a couple of weeks or fussing about it, but today a literal 3min phone call and I got this answer. Enjoy .

I did SEJPME I back in 2017 and to my surprise, EC gave me 3 upper-level SH for it when I applied in April this year, not sure what it gives me for my degree though, other than an elective, which still helps me at this point.

If this is true though I wish I would have done SEJPME II before this as well, but I guess it isn’t too hard to manually send it in if I ever do it. It makes me wonder if it’s the date the course was completed that doesn’t get it on the JST, or if it's just not on the JST anymore.

I recently was admitted to UMPI. To my surprise, the JKO EJPME I course that I completed in Dec2022 was evaluated as BUS 260 Leadership. This is great because not only was it free to take (took about a good week to finish), it knocked one business course off of my BABA Management and Leadership program.

Thanks, this is helpful. I know this is an older thread, but I was curious if anyone has any more recent evaluations for EJPME I and EJPME II, especially at TESU.

From this thread, it looks like TESU evaluated EJPME I as MSC-199 – Special Topics in Military Science, so lower-level credit. Has anyone completed EJPME II and had it evaluated by TESU as well? If so, what TESU course equivalency did you receive, and was it lower-level or upper-level?

I am especially curious because ACE lists EJPME I and EJPME II as separate courses, but both have been recommended for 3 lower-division credits in Strategic Management. Has anyone submitted both to TESU and confirmed whether TESU awards the full 6 credits, or whether they are considered duplicate/overlapping credit?

For me, I am not sure the TESU credit would fill anything I still need, but it would still be nice to have the additional military education evaluated and added to the transcript.

Also, when you said to print the JKO certificate and transcript, have them notarized, and mail them to TESU, did you use a regular state-commissioned notary public? I also noticed that TESU says that in certain circumstances it will accept certification by a commissioned U.S. military officer in place of a notary public’s signature, using its Commissioned Officer Notary Public form. Has anyone used that process for JKO documents, and if so, what exactly did the officer have to certify?

I have considered UMPI as another possible route later, so the UMPI results are interesting as well. I found the report of EJPME I transferring as BUS 260 Leadership and EJPME II as BUS 1XX elective credit, meaning both received separate credit.

For anyone who had these evaluated by UMPI, what process did you use to submit them? I have seen one report of sending the JST and directing UMPI to the JKO course listed in the course-transcript section, while another post mentioned sending the JKO certificate directly. I would be interested in knowing which documentation UMPI actually needed and who it was submitted to.

I also saw the older Excelsior example where EJPME I received 3 upper-level credits, although the exact course equivalency was not listed.

It would be interesting to see any newer evaluations from TESU, UMPI, Excelsior, or other colleges, particularly from someone who has submitted both EJPME I and II.

I'd have to double check, but from the last time I was on JKO, there was a disclaimer that EJPME was losing ACE-recommendation (which gave me no motivation to even complete it). Evaluation of credits would probably depend on when EJPME was completed.

That may be what I remember seeing on JKO as well, which is why I was unsure about the current status.
ACE appears to have treated these as separate recommendation periods. The current version runs from 1/1/2024 through 12/31/2026. I completed EJPME I in 2024 and EJPME II this year, so both of mine fall within the current ACE recommendation period.
I am also curious what degree ROYISAGIRL had evaluated when TESU brought EJPME I in as MSC-199. If it was Military Technology Leadership, I wonder whether it actually filled part of the program or just ended up as an elective. I already have plenty of elective credit, so where TESU actually uses it is more interesting to me than simply getting another 3 credits.
It is also nice to see another school, like UMPI, giving EJPME a more specific equivalency instead of just making it a generic elective.
I knew going into WGU that most of my JST probably was not going to apply there, and I already had previous college credit but had never finished a degree. After getting my TESU evaluation back, though, I could see how TESU might be a good option for some military students, especially lower-enlisted Soldiers with a lot of fragmented JST credit.
In my MOS I accumulated quite a bit of electronics and technical credit, but many of the individual JST recommendations were only 1 or 2 semester hours. PME can also produce smaller or fragmented recommendations. Programs like Military Technology Leadership can sometimes make better use of those credits as part of the degree instead of leaving them as miscellaneous electives.
I also just finished about two years as an instructor, and part of what I have been showing Soldiers is how their Army training connects to ACE recommendations and what eventually appears on the JST. Seeing the recommendations from that side has made me pay more attention to schools that give direct technical, electronics, networking, or leadership equivalencies instead of just turning military training into miscellaneous electives.
That is one reason TESU can be worth looking at for Soldiers in technical MOSs. Military Technology Leadership, Technical Studies, and the applied computer/electronics associate options may make better use of JST credit, especially for someone who has substantial military training but not much prior college coursework.
So even though I do not personally need another elective, I am curious how TESU is currently handling both EJPME I and II and where they can actually fit in the degree
