I noticed the Straighterline Lab classes each begin with an assignment marked "Lab Kit Code Assignment" worth 40 points.

Can anyone tell me what this is?

Its Lab Kit Code ( as label ) comes with the Lab kit box , stick inside the box .  Kit code is needed to access the lab course. Here's a sample screenshot from SL for the biology lab .  Mine came today .
