SL REL-277 Intro to World Religions
#1
I just want to confirm with someone on here who has used this class - will REL-277 Intro to World Religions satisfy the Info Literacy General Education section at TESU? It comes in as REL-101 at TESU. I found some conflicting information in the threads. I would ask TESU but they just got my transcripts this week and I haven't been assigned an advisor yet.

I need something for Info Literacy and Civic Engagement (as in looking at my transcripts I know I don't have anything that will satisfy those categories).
I was going to go with SL and take Intro to World Religions and American Government.
Or I might take Adv Technical Writing and American Government at study.com

Anyone have any suggestions?

Yes, this will definitely fulfill infolit.

You are reading this wrong. This is just classes that TESU offers that will satisfy the requirement. REL-277 is not offered by TESU, only accepted as transfer. But it satisfies the requirement. DSST Intro to Religions transfers as REL-277 as well, and it's listed as meeting the requirement on this page on TESU:

He's asking specifically about Straighterline Religion, not the DSST. Straighterline Intro to World Relgions comes into TESU as REL-101 (https://www.straighterline.com/colleges/...uivalency/, Alternative Credit Project), which does not fulfill Information Literacy.

EDIT: All wrong, pay attention to JSD.

The page you just linked me to says that the Straighterline course comes in to TESU as Introduction to World Religions - REL-277. Introduction to World Religions - REL-277 is exactly what the DSST course comes in as too, and Introduction to World Religions - REL-277 satisfies Information Literacy according to TESU.

Many people here have used this Straighterline course for InfoLit.

Flelm, you are reading the Straighterline course code REL-101, not the TESU course code REL-277.
Straighterline was the last bastion of having Intro to World Religions coded as REL-405, but it was finally downgraded.

The Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP fulfills the Info Lit requirement and gives you 6 hours instead of 3, but SL World Religions is a more convenient option for some people.

To further stress this point, this is "REL-101" according to TESU:

Quote:The Early Prophets: Joshua   (REL-101)   3.00 s.h.

Whereas REL-277 is "Introduction to World Religions" for TESU. 277 clearly makes more sense for Straighterline "Introduction to Religion," and it's what mutiple people have had it transferred in as here, and have already used it to satisfy InfoLit at TESU. You don't need to take my or KayV's word for it, you can scour the forum and find a bunch of people have already successfully done this.
