200 level math course
#1
Hello all!

I need to take one more math course (I really only need one credit but that doesn't seem possible - gotta pay for the whole thing... ). It needs to be 200 level or higher, but can be from any institution TESU accepts. I don't want to take an extra TESU course, because it is expensive! Does anyone know where I can possibly find a cheaper alternative?

SDC has several 200-level courses: https://study.com/directory/school/Thoma...ransferTab Geometry, Calculus, Discrete Math, Statistics.

Sophia has several 200-level courses: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/So...lency_List Does it have to be math? Notably, both 1-credit courses are 200-level. They used to be free, not sure if they still are free. Otherwise, I think their statistics course comes in at 200-level, the same as SDC. That would only be $79 for 1 month.

Coopersmith has Linear Algebra.

Keep in mind that the course number doesn't need to be 200 for TESU to accept it. I would look at the list of providers and see who offers a math course that is high enough and you can handle to take. The course numbers on SDC and SL don't translate to TESU. You have to check with TESU.

The 1-credit ones are no longer free? That's too bad. I think it was a good way to introduce people to Sophia. $79/mo is much easier to deal with than $330/each, though, so I guess it sort of evens out.

There's still time to get the $100 courses at ASU EA: https://ea.asu.edu/courses

They use ALEKS and offer college algebra, precalculus, and calculus in both scheduled and self paced formats.
Be warned that both of their calculus courses are likely to come in to TESU as the same Calculus I credit.
TESU Class of 2024 BSBA-CIS+GM, BSIT, ASNSM-CS+Math, AAS-GEN
Earned credits from Sophia, SDC, ASU ULC, TEEX, Microsoft, Strayer, TESU, Saylor, DSST, CLEP, CompTIA, StraighterLine, and others since starting in April 2020

Thanks everyone! I already took calc 1, calc 2, calc 3, statistics, algebra, geometry, linear algebra.
Are there any other courses that would transfer in as 200 (or just be cheap)? I really only need 1 credit, but I can't seem to do that! I have algebra - but if TESU will accept any as a 200, that could work too.

You didn't list Discrete Math; that's still an option at SDC.

Westcott offers Abstract Algebra for $900-something, it's transcripted as RA credit from Brandman.

Statistics.com has various math courses, they're about $500-something.

West Texas A&M self-paced has Differential Equations.

If you opt for anything besides SDC, make sure to get it approved first.

FHSU which is an university has a math department. These would be credits from a 4 year school. They are about $220 a credit.

I actually did discrete math at SDC. (Really cool cuz earned me a discount on future AND PAST TESU courses). Westcotts Abstract Algebra course has a methods of proof requirement - good to know, which is why I mention :Smile
I'll check out the other ones you brought up - Thanks!
