I already have a BS from a different US university. So if SOS-110 Critical Information Literacy (3) and LIB-495 Liberal Arts Capstone (3) are waived, what is stopping me from taking all AOS courses at SDC, ASU EA, Sophia, SL, ONU, etc?

I'm thinking about going for my Second Bachelor's in CS at TESU. Can I take the 36 credits of AOS courses OUTSIDE of TESU and then pay the $3.3k residency waiver fee without taking any classes at TESU?

I meet the TESU requirements for:
30 credits RA, 15 credits UL

It would take me 2 semesters to take 16 credits. If I'm assuming $5000 for flat rate 9 credits. That would be $10k total. But if I did the residency waiver, it would cost me $3.3k instead.

Haha! Nice try, but a big NO... Unfortunately, just because you want to skip the capstone doesn't mean the school will allow that. Cornerstone is waivable for second degrees, but not the Capstone for the BACS! You can take the 36 credits outside of TESU, you just need the capstone, grad & residency fees, voila!

There's a minor calculation error as well if you're going the Flat Rate option, I usually recommend people to do one flat rate term of 16 credits (and for those who want to go slowly or get a second degree, a final term for the cost of a capstone or two, depending if the person is going for a double degree - in your case, just 1 course as you're going for 1 degree).

Flat Rate Costs: App $50
Grad: $298
Flat Rate Tuition: $4,778
Total: $5,126

Residency Waiver Costs: App $50
Grad: $298
Capstone: $535 x 3 = $1605
Residency Waiver: $3,288
Total: $5,241

Thanks for your reply! I adjusted your numbers for my particular situation. Although I prefer all my credits to be graded, taking all 36 AOS at SDC with residency waiver would still be cheaper.

Flat Rate Costs: App $50
Grad: $298
Flat Rate Tuition: $4,778  (16 credits including capstone - 1 semester)
SDC: $200 x 8 months for 23 AOS = $1600 (1 course a month)
Total: $6,726

Flat Rate Costs: App $50
Grad: $298
Flat Rate Tuition: $535 x 16 (2 semesters 8 credits each - 16 credits including capstone in 12 weeks is crazy for me right now)
SDC: $200 x 8 months for 23 AOS = $1600 (1 course a month)
Total: $10508

Residency Waiver Costs: App $50
Grad: $298
Capstone: $535 x 3 = $1605
SDC: $200 x 12 months for 36 AOS = $2400 (1 course a month)
Residency Waiver: $3,288
Total: $7,641
