Hmm... Most likely, not by much, as you still need to do the major requirements anyways at the institution.
Essentially, the general education and electives would be covered, you'll still need to finish off the major...

Have any of these changes had any effects on the History and political science major(political emphasis)?

Yes, it's best to get to the source, either Sophia.org, Study.com, or UMPI to verify. But, by looking at Study.com and their transfers, almost all classes are going to be affected for UMPI, the main ones that aren't affected are for general education and electives, most majors, if not all are affected. Here's their transfer equivalency from Study.com -

Saylor and StraighterLine doesn't seem to be affected by these changes, only Sophia.org and Study.com, I wonder why they made these changes...
I’m going to post mine. I was blindsided as well because you gave me the green light on another thread

Just make sure to max those transfers with what's available on ACE from recognized providers, the majority of the time, general education and electives are the classes that can transfer over, the major/minor or concentration should be completed for residency purposes. For UMPI, you can still max that transfer of up to 75% or 90 credits, I would do a bit more than that just in case...
