Graduation commencement is tomorrow morning!! They have sent me 3 different packages for this. I already have my diploma since my degree was conferred in March. It lists my degree, major, minors, and Latin honors. I got my wings already too!

Yup I graduated with Summa Cum Laude Latin honors. I earned a 4.0 after completing 48 credits at UMPI.

I'm guessing all of this year's graduates will be receiving it. It's a white package about 5x7. Be careful when opening it! You may end up with a lap full of little bits like I did in my car when I opened it last night while I was on my way to dinner. It's a pretty cool thing. I've never received so many things for graduating as I have from UMPI and I didn't even have to pay a graduation fee like I did at the other 2 colleges I graduated from. One wouldn't even give me a tassel after I paid the graduation fee! I had to buy it and never did. They were reserved for those who bought the cap & gown for commencement. I graduated in December and was told I had to be part of commencement in May to get the tassel or come back at the end of the Spring semester and buy it from the bookstore. I was long gone by then! My experience with UMPI has been soooo drastically different than other schools. It's almost surreal. I definitely don't feel like I was just a number. |
