Official Transcript (CPA)

I just need the 30 hours in addition to the BS to meet the qualifications.  My dilemma is that I would like to take the lower level courses at Sophia, Study.com, Straighterline, etc., (a lower cost provider) and not be limited by my college's 78 hour rule.

Is there a service or university that will record these extra hours on an official transcript that I can send to appropriate entities to verify my college credit?

As others have mentioned, what you're looking for is to do "credit banking" at a school such as Charter Oak or Thomas Edison. You pay a small fee to have your Study.com, Sophia.org, etc. credits "transcripted" at these colleges.

I am in a related situation. I already have well over 150 hours, but very little of it in business, let alone accounting. My original Bachelor's degree happens to be from TESC. I'm now working on the Study.com accounting track. Once I'm done with those and a few other business courses, I'll pay $400 to TESC to add these Study.com courses to my existing TESC transcript. I will then send my TESC transcript to the state Board of Accountancy.

Most U.S. states *do* allow this process so you can earn the credits necessary to sit for the CPA exam. However, there are a few states that do not, and there are a few more that place limits on the number of credits you can do this with. So, be sure to check with your specific state Board on this.

Bear in mind that you don't necessarily have to get your CPA license in your state of residence; most states will allow non-residents to take the CPA exam and become licensed in their state. I am doing this myself, in a state that has reduced upper level accounting requirements.
