Straighterline at TESC
#1
Hi

So I'm strongly considering the straighterline freshman option. My goal is a bachelors degree. Now here is my question, if I was to do S/L: Algebra, Pre-Calc, Calc, and Statistics, this would be 12 math credits, would this fulfill, the 12 natural science/math requirement by TESC or do I absolutely have to do 6 math/6 natural science credit? If so what on straighterline would fulfill the natural science requirement?

Thanks

Yes, the four courses you mention are all Nat Sci/Math; but whether or not if fills the section depends on the degree requirement. If a bachelor of arts, TESC usually requires a computer science course in the NS/M section; easily fulfilled by DSST or CLEP COS-101. One of the four SL courses would then roll to the general education or possibly area of study (?) section.

I appreciate the response, its interesting that you mention it usually requires a computer science course, I looked up the BA and it says it is recommended, but I'm guessing if I was to do all 4 math courses, that would fulfill my requirement as it doesn't mention it as being required? Thanks for your help.

Frankly speaking, there are CLEP and DSST options that are simpler than taking Calculus and Statistics to meet Nat Sci requirements. ALEKS may be a less expensive option through Precalculus if that's what you are trying to achieve.
