I know this info is in a thread somewhere, but I'm not finding it. Can someone help. please?
After I finish a Straighterline course when is it safe to move onto the next course? I've got the percentage (95%) posted in my account and submitted a transcript request sent to ACE. I'm waiting for ACE to do their thing. Straighterline says it could take 72 hours to get it processed. They have been quick in the past, but their site says they are closing for the Memorial Day weekend. I'd like to move on to my next course, but I want to make sure everything is processed first.
What do I need to see in order to move on to the next course without losing any info from this course????
Thank you!

I wasn't aware that if you moved onto a new course then progress from another course would be lost. I think you should be fine.

You won't lose anything. I started Sociology right after History I and it took a few days but it just arrived at ACE.

Just a follow up question to this. Is there an advantage, or disadvantage to adding these to your ACE transcript ? As apposed to just transferring them from Straighterline to a school. I do have an ACE transcript, as I have taken several ALEKS math courses.

I'm not a Straighterline user but I think I've got a good answer to that question. I tried to add my CLEP and DSST exams to ACE and I get a message of "this organization does not allow online registration, please have the institution submit the completed courses". I looked at a Straighterline course just out of curiosity and it gives the same error. Basically even though the courses are listed on the ACE site, it doesn't allow for the scores to be transferred like you and I did for ALEKS. It would appear you'd have to get a transcript sent from them to ACE to even do it so I don't think it would be worth it. I'm not sure how Straighterline does it, but if you're wasting time sending transcripts around then you might as well send them straight to the school.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

One of the good things about sending Straighterline and ALEKS course grades to ACE is that ACE basically becomes a type of credit bank. So, if ever Straighterline folds (goes out of business) your credit would still be banked with ACE. Also, if you do ALEKS courses you should send your grades to ACE, why you ask... well ALEKS does NOT keep any of your grades once you move on from course to course, then when you end your subscription they basically delete any work you did with them.
I recall reading a post on this forum about someone not being able to get their ALEKS scores and they never banked them with ACE. Just saying, better safe than sorry! Plus it's free to create an account with ACE and you can start sending in grades without paying anything, you only pay once you start ordering transcripts.

I agree with bldclot2. Since Straighterline does not even charge to send it to ACE, I think everyone should do it. Perfect example:
I am applying to several Army programs, and a transcript was requested from each institution that appeared on my home college transcript. Since it was listed on my transcript as ACE, I turned in the transcript from ACE. If it said Straighterline on the transcript, then they would have expected a transcript from them(I guess a completion letter). Since ACE is the organization that actually makes the recommendation of the college credit, I think that looks better.
For the initial question, I have always sent two classes at a time to ACE, since I always enroll in two at a time to get the discount.
