Study.com 5 exam a month "limit" is REAL
#1
I read on here that there was a 5 exam per month limit. I just finished my 5th in this month and they are telling me if I want to buy another exam I can. I have not tried yet.. but just a heads up

EDIT- even with it saying I could buy another exam, when attempted would not allow. So a hard limit still in place :-)

Maybe your "month" isn't the same as the calendar month.

Actually, I did 7 when they had this in limit place. It's timing and also within the month, I can't find that thread but I posted about this before. Basically my membership renews every 29th of the month. I took two exams on the 28th, the following month I took 5 more exams before the 28th. The system even said that I took 5 exams within the month and I'm allowed two more because it's within the subscription month.

well, they were all business courses and I have been in business management for 23 years, plus own own business last 13 so it wasn't much new material.

I also have completed a dozen Sophia courses. Two of them were the one credit ones so call it 10. I am waiting on grading on two more sophia and they will be done.

So maybe a bit of a machine, I have done 17 courses of 3 SH each and 2 of 1 SH each since May 21st when I saw that Sophia was free and after over a decade considering a degree effort from one of the big 3 finally got off the fence. Once the grading is done that will be 53 SH in one month and 2 days. My study.com sub started the 28th of May. I prefer and choose to do courses versus test out because really I figured the time to do the courses will be the same as doing study to test out, plus testing centers are shut anyhow. I am a fast reader and good retainer of what I read, that obviously helps along with my experience. I will say that I am learning new stuff and enjoying the process.

Between the sophia free courses and business down a lot with covid (in a industry where travel and recreation dollars are spent) I am able to throw 4-5 hours a day at it and still get my work done (mostly, my employees may differ, but they can do a bit more of stuff I normally do because they are slow as well task wise and if I am doing a course I am not walking around looking for stuff to keep them busy. Having been in the navy years ago, when quiet my instinct is tell them to clean or paint, and really the place doesn't need painting and telling them to clean every day will just get them pissed off so.. me doing classes is better for all of us )

Taking so many at once isn't that different than college finals where you're potentially taking 4-6 final exams within a very short period.

true, I am just finishing one then move to next. I prefer not to have multiples going on at once

Just a final note on the study.com business classes I am taking. I get to do a placement test and that kills anywhere from a third to half the quizzes required and each course I do the following takes into consideration and that reduces quizzes as well. I just registered for another class and have 53% of the quizzes done after doing the placement test and started with 13% done before.

I really find that both Study.com is a great learning platform, as is Sophia.

This is correct. I was allowed to take six exams in May.  If you time it right over the course of the month you can take more than 5.
