I'm sure people will be more than happy to "suffer" through the courses to earn a degree for no cost. I guess I just didn't understand how the last sentence was relevant at all to the link.
It's relevant because you have to take their courses and that is my opinion of their courses. I opted out of the Guardianship program. For those who can get through their courses, the main point of the thread, which was the focal point and mostly discussed in the OP, is that this program is available to certain people. I don't know how good reading comprehension could lead someone to believing that a half a sentence is the main point of a thread when most of the OP discusses the title, but I'm not a reading teacher.
For anyone who appreciated reading the article, you're welcome. I look up stuff like this all the time for others even if I'm not going to use it. If you don't like my opinions, there's the ignore feature.

Now to just get my grade on the last two finals I did for study.com this weekend... I know you were being a bit tongue in cheek, but there are disadvantaged people everywhere. Also, I think it's awesome that they didn't try to means test it. There are plenty of people making too much to qualify for student aid who could nonetheless greatly benefit from this program.

Very true, we have a problem in the US with the current cost of education - hopefully programs like this, the ACE alternative credit project, and even more will help. But I don't want to delve into politics here; every new option we get improves the situation for someone

I question this too. TESU's 90cr from a single source limit would apply, plus they don't have all of the courses needed (especially the UL) for a full degree. So, I kind of question how this would work.
I also think that they know that if they can get someone to do the 90cr at Study.com, and then enroll at TESU for the remaining 30cr, that's still a lot of money coming their way ($15k). Because most of those people won't know that they can test out of the remaining 27cr for cheap before transferring into TESU and just pay for the capstone and residency waiver and graduate.
Not that I don't appreciate the program, and a step in the right direction when it comes to making education more affordable. It's just that they could do CLEP exams and finish 2 years at their local state university for less than/= to that $15k.

https://study.com/blog/mountain-view-wor...lysis.html <--- this answers most of those questions. It really looks like a great deal. I thought we were told the capstone would cost $1300 as a Study.com subscriber. This says just under $1100. Maybe I got some things mixed up.

That's nice that the Capstone will only cost $1098.
The problem with this again is that between Study.com and TECEP's, I don't think there are enough UL courses to get a degree under any plan except a BSBA in GM. That is definitely doable. But for a degree which requires 15cr of UL courses like a BALS (or anything else not business related), there are only 3 UL TECEP's that can be used (Abnormal Psych, Marketing Comm & Management Comm).
Again, I'm not saying that this isn't a good deal for some people. I'm just saying that they make it sound SO easy, and for most people, it's going to be a little more difficult than they are claiming. For one thing, they are not really saying how to plan out exactly which courses you need to take for each degree. That will make a HUGE difference for people.
And, with TESU, they are terrible at advising people, so I can't imagine them helping students come up with a great plan. Study.com is going to have to take the lead, and be very knowledgable about how people are going to be able to do this.

Hey Study.com, do you have someone in-house who is going to be an advisor for people? I think you're definitely going to need someone to help with this, because TESU certainly isn't going to be helpful!

It states they're only offering this for a "bachelor's degree in business," so the BALS wouldn't be an option.
