Study.com experience with the new changes?
#11
Ouch, that was interesting... I wonder if it was the AI bot that answered the question... That's some weird math the AI bot was trying to convey. I guess they'll have to tweak it to fix the programs problems, AI isn't as great as it should be, issues are bound to happen...

In general, there are videos and transcripts that constitute the lessons. Then, there are quizzes after each lesson (about 10 questions per quiz). The quizzes are optional and don't count for your overall course grade. However, the quizzes will often cover the same or very similar subjects as the chapter quizzes, so it is good practice to do them and to understand why you made mistakes.

The chapter quizzes cover about 5 lessons or so. Each chapter quiz has 15 questions. You can do each chapter quiz up to 3 times, and they will take the highest score toward your total course grade. You don't have to wait between chapter quiz attempts. They are timed and not proctored.

The final exam is also not proctored and you can take it up to 3 times, but you have to let 72 hours lapse between attempts.

Overall, I would say that the courses have gotten harder to pass than they used to be, but it is probably for the better this way. More learning, less shortcuts. I like it.

Also, they are adding assignments to many courses (like US History I), just like Sophia. If you like writing or dislike exams, this might make the courses more palatable for you.

After using both platforms, Sophia is highly preferred as it is no where near as tedious as Study.com. Not to mention the process of getting the College Saver $99 price to activate is idiotic, you do not select it when signing up but have to choose a lower level course included in the program during the registration process for the pricing to change.

Are the final exams on study.com like the practice tests?

Since I am on a Linux computer, I would need to borrow a friend's laptop for the proctored version. The practice tests work (and score) on my computer.

The final exams are no longer proctored. There may still be some outdated content on study.com saying they are proctored.

Sorry for the confusion. I'm not asking if they are proctored. I understand that they are not.

What I'm asking is, are the final exams on the site study.com where you can use a browser of your choice just like the practice tests, or are you still required to use Software Secure even though the tests are no longer proctored?
