TECEP Question
#1
Hey Guys, I was just wondering if taking teceps at Thomas Edison without enrolling in a plan is a good idea. I need upper level accounting credits, but I want to take a few tests without enrolling to see what their like and how hard they are. Does it make sense to take teceps withhout enrolling-it looks like there the same price as if you were enrolled. Thanks for any help.

There are some different sources you can get Cost Accounting, accepted as UL credits.

I'm currently taking Penn Foster's Cost Accounting course, to transfer to EC for UL credits (Totalling $255 for the class+materials).

Straighterline also has Cost Accounting, which is mislabeled as "Managerial Accounting" on their website, but is accepted by TESC and EC as UL Cost Accounting (totalling $239 for the class+book, before selling the book back).

As far as taking the TECEPs, you don't have to enroll to take them, but the grading does take a little time. You may be better off, if you are knowledgeable in the subject, to pay for the courses elsewhere. Or, if you really want to try the test. Take it, see if you pass, and in the meantime of waiting try your hand at one of the courses and see if you can pass that.

How long does it take to get a tecep graded? I have one in my plan and would hate to miss a deadline. How far in advance should I take it?

The only UL TECEP in accounting is Income Tax. Take a look at Adams State College for some self-paced UL accounting options.
