TESC Academic Evaluation help please
#1
Alright, I'm back. Here is my Academic Evaluation. Going for a BA in Liberal Studies at TESC. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I recently took Environment and Humanities DSST that does not reflect on this evaluation. That should bring me to 85 credits earned/ 35 remaining.

My plan for the renaming credits:

I am taking Penn Foster Advanced composition for English Composition II (3)
PSY-361-DE Organizational Behavior for my last 2 upper level credits (3)
Capstone starting June 1st (3)
HIS-113-CE History of the United States I (3)
SOS-101/102-CE Social Sciences and History (6)
COU-262-DE Fundamentals of Counseling (3)
PSY-211-DE Lifespan Developmental Psychology (3)
MAN-201-DE Principles of Supervision (can I use this one?) (3)
GOG-120-DE Human/Cultural Geography (3)
PSY-211-CE Human Growth and Development (3)
PSY-230-CE Introduction to Educational Psychology (3)

Let me know what you all think and if this covers everything I need?

One thing I did just notice is they put Here's to your health under my Free electives but I have well over 27 free electives already. Is that something they can do, move Here's to your health under maybe general ed and count as 3 more credits? They are closed now I can call them Monday.

Thanks!

Here's to Your Health doesn't count as gen ed. Principles of Supervision will only count as a free elective in a non-business degree. You need an ethics course for gen ed. You also need one more diversity/global literacy or ethics course for the personal and social responsibility elective.

Unfortunately HTYH isn't a general ed, so it's going to have to be in the free electives. You're getting close though!! Congrats!!

  • These two exams duplicate at TESC. The DSST version, IMO, is more straightforward so I added it to the degree plan.

PSY-211-CE Human Growth and Development [/INDENT]
  • Replaced MAN201 (business/free elective) with HIS114 US History II or POS110 American Govt
  • If you take SOS101/102 after you've completed the social science exams it will be very easy, almost like a review quiz. You will only need to brush up on economics. It's what I did to complete my social science degree. It was fun using the subject intro exam to power down!

By swapping out the recommended exam(s) HIS114/POS110 to HIS252 Civil War & Reconstruction and moving things around you are also primed for the BA Social Sciences degree. Talke a look!

Thank you all very much! This helps a ton.
bricabrac, I will have to look into the BA Social Science, thank you!

One more question. Is Organizational Behavior the only upper level credit I can use for social science and liberal studies? or could I use CIS-301-DE Management Information Systems? or not because that is under business? (I only ask because I have a few IT certifications and think CIS-301 would be easier for me).

Thanks again!

You're welcome!

CIS-301 MIS falls under the Natural Sciences category; as such it can be used for the Liberal Arts concentration, not Social Sciences.

For Social Sciences, Org Behavior is a great option. The test is not that difficult at all, especially after all the PSY exams you've planned. What you will quickly find as you are moving through your list is that they all regurgitate the same questions on theories/theorists, mdoels, and maslow, maslow, maslow.

Good luck to you!
