TESC Age Reqirement - 21 Or Older
#1
In Tesc's admission's page, they say one must be 21+ or have an active military backround
for an exception. Nothing came up under the search while looking for any age threads related
to Tesc.

If anyone has any knowlage about attending Tesc while being under 21, your knowlege would be
much appreciated.

I'm currently a senior (18) in high school and frustrated with traditional education. I would prefer to
begin taking exams before I graduate this June.

Thank you.

It's definitely possible to get into TESC while under 21. Here are some threads on the topic:

Oh wow. Thank you, I appreciate the response. I must have been using the search option/bar wrong as none of those threads came
up.

I'll be sure to figure out the search option before posting next time...

Thanks!

I'm sure those threads will explain the TESC process, but you don't need to apply or enroll in TESC just yet. You can take CLEP and DSST tests for awhile and just bank your test scores. You won't want to pay TESC any money until you get closer to finishing up your college degree.

I totally agree on this. I didn't enroll till Sep '13. I'm going to graduate this year. It's kind of risky because you don't have someone to verify exactly where your courses go and it cost me a bunch of time and a change in plans, but no extra money. I'm still going to be able to graduate in time, I just have to do my final classes in a more stressful way. So, yeah, don't sign up before you have to, but don't wait till the last few months. A year should be good.

For younger students I really like StraighterLine's 'First Full Year' option of 12 months and 10 classes for $1299. (Which is a savings of up to $400 depending on how long you take) Plus it gets them doing the work which while starting out and without real work experience, I think actually performing the work is beneficial. My son graduates this year and while he is planning on going to university he is taking a gap year this year. My intention is to have him run through the SL first year during that time. It should keep things fresh for him, keep him active in his academics and knock out a good chuck of credits at the same time. Might not be for everyone but for us I think it is a good idea.
