TESU graduation dates
#11
Does anyone happen to know what weekend the graduation ceremony in December 2018 is?  I tried to google the dates in 2017 but came up short. We need to make travel plans and coordinate our schedules.

They only have one ceremony per year, in September. Graduates from the entire previous year can attend, so a grad from Dec 2018 would attend the Sep 2019 ceremony.

Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)

I just wanted to let others know about timelines and TESU graduation.
DS applied and paid all fees in March/April. He asked for a September graduation. He then enrolled in the June Capstone that ended on 8/26. That grade was apparently submitted to TESU on 8/28. Then, he requested a transcript of his last class (study.com) on 8/28 and that was received at TESU on 8/31. I do want to note that he informed TESU admission about the class being passed and that the transcript should be coming soon. Also, he communicated with study.com (twice) by email that he would like to graduate this month and if they could expedite the grading (no assignments). Today, 9/5, he received an email that he's graduating this month! Kudos to STD and TESU.

Wow, he qualified for September graduation even though he took the June capstone.
My DD also took the June Capstone (and had the other 117 units completed), but she registered for the December graduation based on this: https://www.tesu.edu/current-students/gr...nformation

Congratulations to your son (and you)!

Same here. I was originally aiming for December, but I didn't start planning early enough, so I'm now aiming for March graduation. I still need 9 more courses plus the capstone (planning to register for the November session for that) so we'll see how it goes. I'm pretty confident I can get those 9 courses done by Jan 1st, but if for some reason that doesn't work out, may end up adding HR/OL as a second AOS and pushing to June.

I'd love to do the walk in Trenton and meet some other folks, but I don't think that will happen. Getting the paper will be good enough for me. Smile

There's no downside to applying for an earlier graduation, except for having to pay the fees sooner. In the worst case, you don't make it and get pushed to the next date.

Any chance your daughter could talk to TESU and get her graduation moved up? I know its a long shot because she has to go through audits and they are scrambling to get everyone else processed for September, but hey, it couldn't hurt to ask. Graduation isn't until the 29th, so they might have enough time.

I did contact them. They said it was not possible. No problem, December is fine too!
