I'm very thankful for the help. Here's how I've applied the advice here into my updated plan using my academic evaluation. I'm planning going the non-residency waiver.

I'm banking half of the units from College Math and Natural Science CLEPs as Elective. Because of a 5 unit Spanish class, my Liberal Studies General Coursework is currently showing 1 credit short - not sure what to move around or add to fix that. Perhaps drop in a history clep?

Interesting, pretty much what I thought would come through as all lower level credits. You may want to do another academic evaluation for the BALS - Social Sciences instead and copy/paste your information as you did above. Note: You need 18 UL, 15 from the Liberal Arts courses and the Capstone to round out the credits. You have no UL yet... so, that 1 credit course missing, needs to be an UL 3 credit course and you need another UL 3 credit course to hit the number!

I'm not quite sure how to determine UL/LL to TESU. Is the Study.com chart I've seen on this forum reliable?

Yes, the Study.com equivalency link is pretty up to date. You pretty much decided which way you want things: Taking the 16 credits for residency and going for the BALS:SS as you chose 3 courses for upper level. Two are SS, one is HUM...

Sociology of Work Study.com 3.00 SOC 305
Leadership Communication Study.com 3.00 BUS 305
Death Investigation @ TEEX 3.00 AOJ-340

You should take the UL Advanced Organizational Behavior and UL Organizational Theory or any other UL Social Sciences courses from Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology in the list here: https://study.com/college/school/thomas-...rsity.html

Now, my question for you is, what courses are you going to take for the 16 credit residency? Cornerstone/Capstone is a given, what plans do you have to round out the rest? If it was me, I like to get "more" for my money, I would get another Capstone and courses to max out my two degrees limit at TESU.

Ah! I missed the 16 credit residency piece. It is very difficult for me to keep these categories straight.

I believe you are saying that if I plan the capstone/courses correctly, there's a path to multiple degrees - one for hum and one for SS?

I just finished Intro to Ethics on Sophia and now I get what @rachel83az was saying about time versus ModernStates.

I'm not sure that you can get two Liberal Studies concentrations. I think that they might have some policies against this? But I could be wrong. If they do allow it, it'd be worth it if all you need is an extra couple of classes.

And, yes, Modern States is great because it's free but sometimes you actually save time & money by paying a little more up front. I think that this is the case with Sophia vs. Modern States.

Yes to double down on the degrees, no to 2 BALS (even if they let you), if you want to splurge on the 16 credits, I have a few threads created for that.  Essentially, I would use the 16 credits on courses that can't be transferred in OR upper level credit courses that are hard to find with alternative credits cheaply.  My take is to get a BALS Social Science & BSBA General Management...

Sending in some CLEP and ACE credits triggered a new academic evaluation at TESU which moved some of my items around.

From my initial post, I've completed the Quantitative Literacy and Ethical Leadership with Sophia, passed the Nat. Science CLEP for 6 Credit and filled in both spaces in Scientific knowledge. (Ad. Gen ed category now has a note that says, "waived")

On the Liberal Studies sections I have the following:

3. Humanities (18 SH)
Group 1 - (5 Spaces for 3 credit classes)

I believe I need to have five UL classes from this list: https://www2.tesu.edu/evaluation/BS-LSHUM.php

If I take of the Humanities Concentration, does this become more flexible? The only 300/400 levels courses listed in the TESU Hum catalog are

Non-Western Literature (LIT-460)
Philosophy of Religion (PHI-370)
Ethics and the Business Professional (PHI-384)
Biomedical Ethics (PHI-475)World Religions (REL-405)
Advanced American Literature I (LIT-301)
Advanced American Literature II (LIT-302)
African Encounters (LIT-331)Eastern Religions (REL-406)
Western Religions (REL-407)
News Writing (JOU-352)
Critical Thinking for Homeland Security (HLS-355)
One Writer's Vision: Jane Austen (ENG-393)
Interpersonal Communication (COM-330)
Elements of Intercultural Communication (COM-335)
The Story of Human Language (COM-339)
Managerial Communications (MAN-373) This is also offered as a TECEP exam
Leadership Communications (MAN-376)
Marketing Communications (MAR-321-TE) This is only offered as a TECEP exam

Which I need 5 or equivs.

I don't think any of these equivs. are on study.com - but I do see they have 3 English 300s there, which I would be happy to do if it up fulfill UL credit. Do History or Social Science UL count toward a non-humanities liberal studies?

Group 2 - (Complete)
ENGL0030B/

**At least 18 semester hours (SH) within the entire Area of Study (including the Capstone)
must be at the upper (300/400) level and a maximum of 6 semester hours can be at the 100 level.**

4: Liberal Studies General Coursework (24SH) (Complete)
LIT-245
LIT-291
ENG-246
LIT-205
SOC-210
ANT-299
POS-299
PHI-299

All of my other BA.LSHUM program categories have been filled in except:
- Information Literacy 3SH (INSTITUTIONAL REQUIREMENT) (Not started)
- LIB-495 Liberal Arts Capstone Course
- Electives - 12 remaining elective credits to fill - I plan on using ACE credit from Sophia to knock these out - currently finishing Psych and Greek Phil, for example. Just gotta pick two more...
