TESU Capstone Policy

Capstone Transfer Policy

Capstone Transfer Policy

Effective July 1, 2016, the undergraduate capstone course must be taken at Thomas Edison State University. The capstone course can no longer be transferred from another institution. Students who have an approved capstone equivalent course in their official University program plan as of June 10, 2016 or are enrolled in a capstone equivalent course as of June 10, 2016 may have that course applied to their degree; it will be accepted as fulfilling the capstone requirement.

Students who transfer in sufficient credits to fulfill all degree requirements (i.e. “instant grads.”), may appeal the capstone requirement to the Dean of their school.

Wouldn't this be for Business majors? I haven't seen any BA capstone equivalent course options discussed, but maybe there were some out there?

I love how totally behind they are in publishing this! I'm not sure why they can't make a determination a few months in advance, post it BEFORE this goes into effect, and then have something in writing on the website ahead of time. They really make almost no sense over there sometimes.

Does this mean that if one has 120 credits and enough UL courses the capstone can be waived or is an external capstone needed?

On another note, does the capstone GPA count towards one's final GPA at TESU?

It reads as if it can be waived entirely, but it's likely geared towards BSBA folks transferring in Strategic Management.

The Liberal Arts capstone or taking the Stategic Management course at TESU definitely counts towards your GPA as they're both graded courses. If you take the Strategic Management TECEP though, as I imagine every BSBA seeker here would, does not impact GPA

I'm wondering if the capstone will be waived if i get 120 credits with all the requirements including PF Strategic Management. ( i registered for PF class on 6/28/2016 and still working on it.)

You'd probably have to appeal to the dean as stated in the original post
