Thanks...
For what I've read here and Reddit, then classes requiring papers (PA) instead of tests (OA), appeared to be favored by students. Any thoughts? I rather write a paper or papers than proctored exams.

Personally, I prefer tests, but I don't start at WGU for another 25 hours(I start February 1st), so I can't officially comment on what I prefer at WGU yet. I like tests because I have a lot of background knowledge on the subjects I'm going to be studying or I can rapidly study to prepare for them. I'm not a huge fan of writing papers but I know it's something I need to work on...

I read somewhere that if a paper does not meet the criteria, you have an opportunity to amend it. I like that approach. I wish someone who already completed the MSITM could share the paper topics and requirements so i can start preparing way in advance. Of course, nothing illegal. Please PM me if you are a current MSITM student or recently complete the program and willing to discuss the course work. No rule breaking will take place.

According to the WGU transfer certs page they accept a few IT certs for masters programs like CAPM, PMP, CEH and CISSP.

Interesting. I was told that WGU doesn't accept any transfers towards any master's degree. But maybe that was only referring to college credits and not for certifications. It makes sense though if you were going to be earning a specific cert as part of the degree program and you already had it, you wouldn't have to take it again. That wasn't an option for the MBA or MSML since there were no associated certifications.

For the MS ITM it looks like they only accept PMP, CAPM, and CPTC.

That is true. You can revise papers as many times as needed. For exams, you re-take it once for free, beyond that they charge proctor fees. You're only allowed up to 3 retakes... a 4th retake requires approval from the dean of your school, after that you're out of the program.

FYI, it is an academic integrity violation in pretty much every school to share any course materials, assignments, papers, or exam questions. People can share syllabi or reading lists, but you can find that by looking on the WGU website. Discussing the types of work that is required for a course, or making suggestions for study materials (YT videos, web links, etc.) is also fine.

WGU is pretty aggressive in coming down on people who they find have violated academic integrity regulations. They have stripped degrees from people for this recently, so I caution against anything that could be construed as a violation or grey area in this regard.
Working on: Debating whether I want to pursue a doctoral program or maybe another master's degree in 2022-23
