Taking labs with classes - how does this work?
#11
Well, I got my lab kits for microbiology, A&P I and II delivered yesterday and it was a bit unnerving to find a vacuum packed pig fetus, cow eyeball, sheep heart and brain in the box. Would def have preferred these be virtual.

Sounds like my Grandma is making soup for the weekend :-).

But glad to hear they take this lab-thingy serious. I believe a virtuell Lab can never give you the same experience like thew real thing.

Yes, StraighterLine is probably as close to a real college course as you can get for sciences... But, if you're into Virtual Labs, Study.com would be my recommendation as they've got several classes with labs as well.

I avoided all the sciences as best I could for as long as I could and here I am..

I'm taking some straighterline courses with labs and this might sound silly to people who have done labs before but how do I do this? Do I do wait until this lab kit comes in the mail and then start the course (Anatomy and Physiology I) or is the lab portion a separate course itself?

And how do you actually do this? Do you take pictures or videos of what you are doing and mail them somewhere?

TIA!

Yes, we recommend waiting until you receive the kit before starting the lab course as it will support your learning as you work through the lab. The lab instructions will tell you exactly what you need to do in order to earn the credit. Don’t forget, you get 10 hours of tutoring included with your course, so don’t hesitate to take advantage of this benefit if you find yourself stuck at any point!

I meant starting the class if I didn't have the kit yet - I wasn't sure if they were meant to go hand in hand and you do say Checkpoint 1 along with Checkpoint 1 in the lab or if it was best to do the actual class and then the lab.
