Three tests left.....
#1
Ok, I only have three more upper level test left.

Org Behavior - ECE
Ethics - ECE
Civil War - DSST

I heard Excelsior's Org. Behavior and Ethics tests where difficult. Has anyone who has taken either of these test in the last few months have any insight?

Also, How is the DSST "Civil War & Reconstruction" test?

Gonna try and knock them out before June 1st. Is this doable?

Thanks,
Scott

Scott, I've taken all of these.

OB - doable with Instacert
Ethics - Instacert and EC's practice test
Civil War - just took it Friday so I don't know my score but supplement Instacert with something. I used a book on CD that really helped.

By June 1? Think so... I would do Ethics, OB, then Civil War. Hardest to easiest.

Good Luck!

Good for you Scott. How long have you been at this?

Civil War and Rec was my first exam after being out of school 20 years. I didn't know about Instacert. Took 7 weeks to get my courage up to take the exam. Got a 64.

I used Ken Burns PBS series, took lots of notes. Also Civil War for Dummies, Everything You wanted to Know about Civil War, Clep book and anything else I could find at the library on the Civil War. I seem to remember questions about munitions.

Can you recommend an easy CLEP? I need 2 credits before I can begin working on 8 upper level classes. Any upper level you'd consider easy?

Also Drug and Alcohol Abuse DSST is upper level and pretty straightforward.

Analyzing Literature
Intro. to business
Intro to marketing
Social science and history
Sociology

The above courses represent from top to bottom what Ifound to be quick, easy and very passable with a small investment in study prep. Iam sure this will vary for everyone. Good luck and be aggressive !!

Hi RBowman-

Thanks for the information. Scheduled to take Analyzing Lit Saturday. I think I'll die if I have to read another poem. Any specifics?

Passed Social Science and History with a 67.

Hate Business and Marketing after 20 years as a buyer, so I guess that leaves Sociology.

I understand your CLEP Math fears. I too have not had a Math class in over 20 years. I bought a Collins College Outline series book on College Math (for a penny) and I'm self teaching.

Are you Excelsior? What's your major?

Thanks for the advice.

The CLEP Analyzing and Interpreting Literature exam was a never-ending cruel session of poem after poem. It reminded me a lot of the SAT exam, where they give you a poem or passage to read, and then questions on comprehension. By the time it was over (and before I got my score), I thought I just might fail, but I ended up getting a 65. Ninety minutes of torture for 6 credits, I think it's worth it.
