Copying this from another thread to consolidate information. This is a recent reply from Professor Leduc, who leads the CRJ 496 capstone course:
"The good news is that our curriculum has a foundational philosophy of social justice which seems to be your interest.
The not so good news is that there is no substitution for the CRJ 496 course; but it is not necessarily connected to law enforcement.
This is the capstone course in the degree in which students work within a criminal or social justice agency and connect their experiences with our program learning outcomes. You may have somewhere local that you can intern with; or you may have relevant work experiences at your current job that you could use; or you may do it virtually with a social justice advocacy agency.
I meet (via zoom) with students in the session before they are ready to take this course and we plan out where you will complete your 100 hours."
She provided a syllabus, field hours log, and assessment instructions. If anyone is interested in the field but not currently in law enforcement, it wouldn't hurt to reach out to see about your specific circumstances.
