Main site

Quote:The United States Naval Community College (USNCC) is an educational association created by private and public higher education institutions that offer regionally accredited undergraduate and/or graduate degree programs.

The USNCC Consortium increases educational opportunities and readiness for enlisted Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen by providing a naval-relevant curriculum asynchronously and online through a consortia of select civilian colleges and universities.

The purpose of the USNCC Consortium is to establish a program for the enrollment of students to provide operationally relevant education across the maritime forces that is readily accessible, low cost, scalable, and fully transferable to four-year academic institutions of higher education.
The USNCC Consortium Agreement clearly defines roles and responsibilities (for both the home and host institution), credit acceptance (transfer of credits), assessment and oversight, faculty requirements, admissions, etc., in addition to outlining which institution will be the degree granting institution*.

*Note that prior to USNCC achieving accreditation (pre-candidacy status), the partner institution will be the degree granting institution. Upon achieving post-candidacy (accreditation) status, the USNCC will become the primary associate degree grantor for participating USNCC students and partner institutions will continue to grant degrees for professional certificates in the designated concentration areas. The USNCC currently has conditional degree-granting authority from Congress dependent upon achieving accreditation.

Current partner institutions (ASU and Alexandria Technical Community College)

So it will be similar to the CCAF. I'm also guessing that everything that's normally put on the JST will now go on the USNCC transcript instead. I wonder if the JST will go away entirely now (at least, going forward)? Because I can't see the Army being left behind here.
