University Fast Facts - Add Yours!
#1
LOL, was browsing the fast facts section of Excelsior College and noticed the interesting amount of info... One thing caught my eye: Graduates to date shows 181,949 - amazing number really!  I think that number is amazing because they are about 50 years old as a college and in the last couple decades exploded in growth; however, their enrollment of 21,063 is down again.  Link: https://www.excelsior.edu/about/fast-facts/

Searched TESU and noticed they show as under 60,000 grads.  That's about what I was thinking it to be from a previous post of mine a few years ago when I started.  Weird, I thought they would have hit that mark already or something slightly higher.  The site page may not have updated probably, not sure if they currently have 17,200 enrolled... Last on my list was COSC, they are less than 1/10th of the size of TESU with regards to enrollment and about 1/4th the amount of total graduates since the college started.  I'm curious if they'll be merged into a larger public or state university and made into an alternative college subsidiary, or if a partnership is in the works with one to boost student applications.  Info can be found on their link: https://www.charteroak.edu/aboutus/profile.php

Why do you think COSC will be absorbed into a state university? It's already a part of the state college system in Connecticut. Looking on Google Maps, it's a VERY small campus. They have 1 building. It's next to Central Connecticut State University which is huge by comparison. I do wonder why it's its own college when CCSU is literally across the street though. It's not even an old school so it is odd.

According to Google, in 2019 NJ (home of TESU) had a population of 8.8 million while CT (home of COSC) had a population of 3.6 million. That's a part of the difference in the size of the student body. TESU also offers far more degree programs than COSC.

COSC is already a state school. CT is a tiny state, I would expect any school there to be very small. I wouldn't compare two schools to each other based on size, especially if the states aren't similar in size. Plus there are a lot of variables. Like, I would expect that states with more expensive tuition to have fewer graduates than states with less expensive tuition - but that's just intuitive for me, I could be totally off.

UMPI ranked #28 for the US News colleges by affordability. #17 for top schools in the North.

1,440 total undergrads.

Founded 1903.

They only have a 1.3 million dollar endowment, most of their income goes to focus on their students.

UMPI has an acceptance rate of 95%.

68% of enrolled students are women.

A bit over active 10,000 alumni members. I cannot find the total amount of graduates however, but it is definitely north of 10k
