U of St. Thomas Houston: Free 3 Credit Summer Class

"Thank you for the response and interest in UST. Where did you read that transcripts are not required for admissions? An admissions decisions is based on student’s academic record/GPA, regardless if a visiting or degree seeking student looking to take a free summer class. If you can please share the link where you saw this information? I need to make sure this information in corrected in our website.



In regards to transcripts, I don’t see them in your file. Do you know the date these two transcripts were sent? I will verify with our incoming transcripts department if they have been received. Also, please know that Summer II session, classes are starting tomorrow and Friday before 1pm is the last day to register.



Any other questions please let me know."

and

"Thank you. I see that transcripts were ordered today so it make take 24-48 hrs to receive and upload them to your file. This is very last minute process, and there are many other students in the same situation so I can’t guarantee you registration….but will do my best."

So, that's disappointing. I went through time and expense and still might not be able to register for the course. They have such a slow registration system, even if I wasn't on a time crunch. Even my former university that has all employees working from home handled a transcript request within two hours.

It wasn't a lot of money spent in the scheme of things, but it still sucks. Why not tell me up front that I might not make the free class registration in the first e-mail communication? I wouldn't have wasted my time. That's pretty stupid.
