Online grad schools, cheapest option, no GRE

I'll give you some advice the board gave me. See if your Bachelor's leads to a job where they give you tuition reimbursement. If so, go wherever you want on the company dime.

are there any negative things floating around about this university? someone mentioned it on here in passing but i could not find anything else that was said about it

There have been a lot of posts about Amberton over the years.  Do a forum search for some of the posts. Here are the links to a couple:

I think most people are pretty pleased with it.  My son is looking at their HR Grad Cert.  He isn't ready to plunge into a full program right now and his work will reimburse for 2 courses per semester and he wants to jump in and take advantage of that!

I think it looks great and the cost is very affordable! Good luck!

That is really interesting - do they let you do just a specialization on its own, or is it like TESU where you can only earn it while you are also working on a masters? I assume that is what you meant by grad cert?

From the website, it looks like you can do the Specializations on their own, but we haven't verified it.  Ft Hayes also has an HR Grad Cert. and is a similar price.

For fort hays state university was very strict with their school acceptance, they need you to have 3.5 gpa, so you don’t need to take the gmat or  Gre and the university does not consider work experience.

It depends what master degree you want to take. Each university offer better programs than others. I am attending Missouri state university and it is cheap tuition and they also have some gpa requirements and work experience.

I just took a couple grad classes this past semester at Missouri State and can say they're one of the cheaper state schools out there for grad tuition. Internet-based courses are $295 per credit hour: https://www.missouristate.edu/registrar/costs.htm
MS - Human Relations & Business, Amberton University
BA - Liberal Studies, TESC
AAS - Administrative Studies, TESC
AAS - Environmental, Safety & Security Technologies, TESC
Certificate - Crisis Management, Central GA Technical College

What sort of degree program are you interested in? I haven't read through all of the responses, but if it's Cybersecurity, Fort Hays State University (FHSU)  has an online virtual college program and they have a Masters Professional Studies degree in Cybersecurityhttps://www.fhsu.edu/academic/gradschl/MPS/Cyber-Security/index -
plus the tuition is only 287.75/credit and that includes fees, which is less than attending the state university system for the state I reside in. I found the online courses to be as engaging and up to the level of a traditional face to face program, but online which provided more flexibility and at a less expensive rate. I am halfway through my MSEd-Higher Education Student Affairs degree program and have had a very positive experience! (And much better than my kiddo who attended online through our state of residence university system, especially the distance learning college campus, which ironically resulted in the worst of all of the various online state uni campus experiences.)

The GPA requirement flexibility may depend on the program you are interested in. I was out of school for a while (decades) and I did not have a 3+ GPA undergrad avg and I didn't take any GRE's etc, but I was still accepted to FHSU, so it may depend on the program you want to enroll in. Plus they may allow students to attend as a non-matriculated student to start. I applied and enrolled there as it was less expensive to attend out of state there as a virtual student than it would be for me to attend my university system of residence.

I forgot to mention this - there are tons of schools that will conditionally admit you, and have you take 1-3 grad-level courses, and if you do well in them, they automatically change you to admitted.

I've seen this multiple times, at all different kinds of schools (public, private, RA, NA, state-university, you name it).  So I wouldn't let the GRE/GMAT thing slow you down.

They will accept me, but I will not get reimbursement  from my job because non matriculated. It is consider that you are not enroll on the program. If you are paying out of pocket than it should be fine.
