Walden Masters Degree - Limited Discounts!
#1
Hey All, I was looking to register for either the MS General Psychology or the MS I/O Psychology option and came across their new Limited Time Discounts.  I think this discount would be greater than the FIRST TERM FREE or the 50% off lifetime of the program options we had!  The discount for each of these is now $4000 one time, I'm not sure if this is for the first term or two terms, etc, it would be cheaper than the first term free or 50% off lifetime of program.  Does anyone know the full terms and conditions of these discounts?  I haven't taken the time to research, someone should do a quick write up!

For example, if you had the free firsts term, if you took two terms it would be just $2700 and applicable fees.  For three terms, it would be $2700x2=$5400 roughly with fees.  If you had the 50% off life time, it would be just $2700 and applicable fees for the first two terms.  For three terms, it would be 2700x3/2=$4050 roughly with fees.  Now, if you take two terms with this discount of $4000, it would be $5400-$4000 = $1400 for a Masters degree if you finish in two terms!  And in three terms, it would be just $4100 plus applicable fees!  Doh, oh well, the 50% for the lifetime would be cheaper in the long run but if you can finish in 2-3 terms, this will do...

Random question - do they still have the first term free for the elementary admin path? I believe someone on here pursued that degree path with the free promotion in the past

I guess they are calculating for 6 terms (18 months), which Walden generally considers the standard time frame for completing a Master’s program. They expect you to complete a minimum of 6 credits per term, which would require 8 terms (24 months). Like @freeloader’s post says, I think they plan to offer a $ 800 discount per term, and a max discount of upto $ 4000 (Not 800 x 6 = $ 4800). So, depending on how fast you finish, you might avail of $ 800 x ..... worth of discount. So, for two terms, you will avail of $ 1600 worth of discount, which is good, but comparatively less generous than the 50% off, which was offered earlier to US students.

Sadly, Walden's $XXXX off deals tend to be divvied out over multiple terms, so getting either the first term for free or the 50% reduction over an entire program is usually the best deal, especially for people who accelerate through their degree.

are the courses fairly easy? How many papers to write?
Overall as a program is it hard?

I would hope the courses are not easy and that there are lots or least the normal amount of papers to write.

Thanks, i read one can transfer 23 credits in, is there a list of courses that one can transfer in?  Do they have to be graduate level courses, or bridging courses?
