Haven't missed one yet. I even flew out to a school that I never step foot on before.

I didn't walk for TESU, CA to NJ wasn't a practical trip a the time. I walked for WGU because they had a ceremony in Vegas and it was a good excuse to drive out there.

Pretty sure I'll walk for Georgia Tech, that would be fun.

Technically I have the opportunity to walk in two different commencements this year if I wish since I finished my TESU degree in March and will complete my WGU degree next month (was hoping for this month, but my capstone group is moving slowly).

Similar to jsd, a trip from CA to NJ just for the TESU commencement isn't really practical for me, so I have no plans to attend that one. Had I planned to stop at the bachelor's, I might be more inclined to make the trip since it would be my only opportunity. But with my master's degree being nearly done now, it is less important to me now.

I will probably walk for my MBA since WGU is likely to have a commencement in CA again next year, and that would only be a day trip. Alternatively, it might be worth bringing the family along for a weekend at Disneyland or something.

If I get any more advanced degrees (like a doctorate or a second master's degree) I will likely walk for those since advanced degrees feel like they need to be celebrated. Completing the bachelor's felt more like checking a box while the MBA feels more like I'm completing a degree that I am actually interested in.
Working on: Debating whether I want to pursue a doctoral program or maybe another master's degree in 2022-23

Complete:
MBA (IT Management), 2019, Western Governors University
BSBA (Computer Information Systems), 2019, Thomas Edison State University
ASNSM (Computer Science), 2019, Thomas Edison State University

Same as JSD and Merlin -- the trip from CA to NJ is a bit pricey.  My preliminary pricing guess-timate (flight, hotel, car, basic sightseeing for family of 4) came to $3k.
Hmm, we had to pause and think for a moment and consider the whole degree cost $6.5k.

Grandma thinks we *REALLY* should go and celebrate this milestone.  I agree....
But the graduate watched 2018's ceremony on YouTube and came to the following conclusion:  if she had to wear a flowing robe, a weird hat, stand in line, and spend buckets of money, she'd like to do it at Universal Studio's Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

I'm so proud of my college graduate's critical thinking skills....   Smile

I considered it for my WGU degree, but I honestly felt that it was too easy to justify it. I'm doing another MS at University of Alabama right now and I don't know if I'll walk for that one. Alabama has never been at the top of my travel bucket list...
