What are your educational goals for 2014?
#1
I thought it would be fun to start a thread stating our educational goals for 2014 and then check back at the end of 2014 to see what we've accomplished. I keep a running word documents of all the goals I have for myself and I'm about halfway through all of them. You can also feel free to post your goals for the last couple of years to remind you of how far you've come so far. I'll check back in periodically to state when a goal has been met.

GOALS MET 2012
1 Pass NALA's CLA/CP Exam/Earn CP Credential (Certified Paralegal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
2 Earn ACP credential
3 Earn Paralegal Certificate through B&M University.

GOALS MET 2013
1. Earn AA (Earned 62 credits in one year using CLEP and traditional classes).

GOALS TRYING TO MEET 2014
1. Earn BS from COSC
2. Earn advanced paralegal certification in Business Organizations: Incorporated Entities and Real Estate
3. Pass NFPA's PACE Exam
4. Join IPMA
5. Apply for Masters at B&M school. (May carry over into 2015)
Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.

Road traveled: AA (2013) > BS (2014) > MS (2016) > Doctorate (2024)

If God hadn't been there for me, I never would have made it. Psalm 94:16-19

Other education goals:
pass level 1 WSET wine training in March.

after that?!?! YIKES!! I'm going to have to think of something Smile

Lets see... I'm planning on taking the GRE on Jan 29th.
I'll finish my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction at the end of February.
As that wraps up, I'll be applying for entry to a Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a hopeful start of June if they can get my paperwork processed quick enough and thus starts another several years of school. (That is unless I change my mind on the program yet again, it's only happened about a dozen times so far.. Tongue )
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

Hi Soliloquy,

This is a great idea for a thread! Thanks for posting.

Well done on reaching your goals in 2012 and 2013! I bet you will do as well or even better in 2014! Best of luck!

As for me, my goals are:

1. Finish my BSN portion of my Nursing Degree at TESC
2. Get straight "A's and get into the Nursing Honor Society
3. Walk at TESC graduation (might not be possible based on timing of completion of my last class)
4. Go to a place up in Saratoga Springs, NY called, "The Finish Line"... because it's a tradition whenever I complete a huge accomplishment
5. Finish PAYING for my Nursing Degree at TESC
6. Get accepted into at least 1 of my top MSN schools
7. Get at least a 50% scholarship towards my MSN
8. Enroll in the best MSN program that will accept me
9. Get a HOUSE and get out of my condo without losing my shirt
10. Lose the "college weight" I have gained sitting on the couch studying/taking classes for the last 10 months
11. Inspire at least one other nurse to sign up with Instant Cert and get their BSN
12. Inspire at least one current Instant Cert person to stick with their degree plan and finish a degree (preferably at TESC, since that's the program I can be a "big sister" type resource).
13. Go on a nice LONG vacation with my husband and listen to him play guitar around a fire or in the summer at sunset
14. Go to Provence, France and ride my bike for at least a week, preferably right after the Tour de France
15. In reference to the above, take ALL my earned vacation time...in other words, actually USE my vacation time instead of waste it or lose it
