Which school/Program? Communication credits and OTA Credits
#1
I believe once I finish my AS in Occupational Therapy I will have over 132 credit hours completed (more once I complete the requirements for the school). I tried to place my courses in categories for Charter Oak State College and Excelsior. I was confused when it came to TESC. Which school and program makes sense with my course credit? I would hate to get a General Studies degree but it is better than no Bachelors at all.

Your concentration will officially be individualized studies. You can tell employers that you focused on communications and health studies coursework, but those things won't be listed on your transcript as concentrations. You will have a BA or BS in General Studies with a concentration in Individualized Studies.

Look into the BSAST in health services technology at TESC.

Looking at your credits real quick, it looks like you might be able to get a BA in Communications from TESC. Your OT credits will go in free electives and you will probably lose some credits.

I wonder if you can apply your credits to this program:

Thomas Edison State College: Flexible human services degree that leverages your professional expertise
CLEPS Passed: 10 DSST Passed: 11 TECEPS: 1

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

So do you think that TESC is my best option for a school (based on my credits) or do you think excelsior or COSC would be a better option? Should I apply for more than one school? When should I apply? I will be in school until summer 2016 for my OTA degree. I will only have the OTA fieldwork left.

It is helpful to apply to all three schools to see how they apply your credits. Of course, this is not practical for everyone because it could get expensive. But if you can afford to spend 200-300 in app fees and transcripts, do it.
