Interesting article - It's possible that nobody offers it at the undergraduate level, yet. It looks like you can create a general background and any prerequisites in the undergraduate degree, especially if you know the field you want to apply it to. Then, plan to study it in-depth in graduate school.

That's what I'm thinking too. The interesting thing is there's many degree's that can lead to that degree... Worth checking into more!

You could approach this from operations management, mathematics/statistics and, as the article mentions, computer science and physics. I could see a social science degree clearly heavy in quantitative research methods, with strong advanced math/CS courses on the side, as a reasonable pathway to the field described too.

I've seen a few data mining and business intelligence programs that are offered online, but they were probably at the graduate level. I'd have to search again. Anyway, it sounds like all of the things I find boring wrapped up into one. :p
