Would you review my degree plan?
#1
First wanted to say thanks for looking at this and helping. I could not have come this far without you all!

The list below is what TESC said they would transfer when I was looking to do the AS degree. I went on to get my AS at COSC. The additional courses I took to earn that degree are at the bottom of this list. I am not good at studying/testing for the unknown, so I would prefer to take classes the cheapest way to get my degree. From what I have read on here, BSBA in General Management would be the easiest way to go versus BSBA HR/Org. Mgmt. Is this still true? If I do not want to do TECEPs, would the enrolled option be cheapest for me if I do not take any classes through the school? Also, TESC placed my ACC II in the ACC I slot. They had RI*TE*DUP beside my ACC I, which means ruled ineligible, transfer equivalency, and duplicates other credits. I was wondering if I take accounting I through SL, would they put ACC II where it belongs?

There are two ways you can complete the accounting requirement. There is the series of three courses: Accounting I, II, and III. Then, there is the series of two courses which are often labeled Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting. It depends on which setup your community college had.

Are you trying to avoid testing because you don't need any Penn Foster courses? They're more expensive than CLEP, TECEP, DSST, and Uexcel. You also only need credits in three categories, not all four.

You could also take Business Communications from SL, which transcribes as COM-300, and Penn Foster Technical Writing, which transcribes as Business Report and Letter Writing I, ENG-216.

Sanantone, I am trying to avoid testing as I am not comfortable with it. I took accounting I and II in CC, but I think TESC is saying my accounting I is too old, that is why I was wondering about taking accounting I so they put my accounting II back in the accounting II slot. Does that make sense? I wasn't sure about the category credits, thanks for that also.

That makes sense. You might have to be enrolled to do this, but you should ask them to move Accounting II to the Accounting II slot. The only other way to complete the Per Credit Tuition plan cheaply is through portfolio assessments. If you're not comfortable with those or TECEPs, then you should choose the Enrolled Options Plan.

I have accounting courses that are not too old, and I took them in 1992.

When I got to the "Specialization" section, there was a maximum of 3 classes that were more than 10 years old. So, I have 3 courses there that say "10Y" on them. But that shouldn't affect the Business Core section (where accounting I & II are listed as requirements).

I would talk to someone directly about that. They should get that straightened out before you pay good money to take a class again. I think someone just coded the courses incorrectly in the system and it needs to be fixed.
