your thoughts on MJ.. his life.. his career
#11
Just look at all the other pop idols that have gone down a similar road. I keep thinking of Elvis. The same long shadows of fame haunted MJ. And, yes, the alleged 'child molester' thing just got to me and my family. These past years, I have felt pity for him mostly and now do hope and pray that his children are able to live normal lives.

So true. It's sad that so many are so enamored with celebs and in awe of talent that they won't tell them when their lives have taken a self-destructive turn.

Listening to radio while cleaning house, heard this Rabbi and had to stop and share a link for this thread. He knew MJ well. Seems a tendency to canonize people upon their death. MJ was a popular talent but a complex phenomenon, certainly. He always seemed sort of detached and alone in the world. Celebrities, or those who seek celebrity, seem to mistake attention for love. Rabbi said his heart broke and friendship faded as MJ started to ignore his spiritual side and was being fed all manner of pharmacy, on path of self-destruction.

I was amazed by the amount of views... 41 million for Thriller! Wow. I forgot how he could dance and the charisma he possessed. Truly sad that it ended this way. Sad
