Penn state online... |

Wanted to get some opinions. The field that I'm going into requires a masters degree and is pretty competitive.
Everyone that I've talked to at the places I want to work, have not only highly ranked masters for our field, but also their bachelors degrees are from at least top 50 schools.
The Penn State degree, you get the same degree as those who are on campus.
It would add another 2 years to my undergrad and then 2 years for my masters. I just turned 39. Do you think its worth it to get a degree from Penn State or should I just continue with my original plan and complete my masters in 2 years and just do a lot of internships?
Thanks for any opinions/advice in advance.

Confused about TESC academic evaluation |

Hi,
Could anyone help me a problem I'm having with the TESC academic evaluation. Whenever I run the audit for the BA Criminal Justice program that I am enrolled in it comes out normal and I should only have to complete COMP II to finish my English electives. However, when I run the same audit under the change my program feature from the 2012 academic catalog it says that I have to finish Comp II and 3 additional classes. What does this mean and should I just continue to go off the evaluation done from the program that I am enrolled in or trust the new one. Also in the new one it has different electives and gives me credit for Criminology like 3 or 4 times. Here is a pasted of the academic evaluation.
I) Group 1
ENC-101 English Composition I...... 05/01/04 C 3 *TE
ENC-102 English Composition II_______________________ 1 course needed
N) Group 2
ENC-103 English Comp.: 1st Quarter___________________ 1 course needed
ENC-104 English Comp.: 2nd Quarter___________________ 1 course needed
ENC-105 English Comp.: 3rd Quarter___________________ 1 course needed

Hello! Thank you in advance - this site is a wealth of information that has finally convinced me that I can CLEP some credits for my degree. The community college I attend only accepts 15 credit by examination so I've hemmed and hawed at trying to figure out which ones would be the easiest to do.
What I've come up with is the following:
Freshman College Composition
Analyzing & Interpreting Literature
Introductory Psychology
Introductory Sociology
College Mathematics
Any recommendations on tackling these? I can probably do the English related ones relatively easy but I will admit that the writing aspect has be a bit spooked.
The math one is my biggest fear.
Thanks in advance!

I 'finallly' applied to TESC last week. I am planing on a BSAST in Technical Studies combining BA and tech. courses. The plan is to quickly complete the bachelors and apply for a MBA at a nationally ranked college. I am done with the GMAT as well (whew!!). I am still waiting for an eval, but I am hoping to complete the remaining credits needed in the next 2-3 months and hopefullly be on time for the spring(?) or summer intake.
Although the time for this qn may be past, I am interested in knowing people's experiences with a TESC degree. Was anybody dinged primarily for this reason? What could be some potential pitfalls to avoid or things to actively pursue while at TESC in order to stand a better chance against applicants with degrees from B&M/reputed colleges?
Thanks.

Or something of equal severity and importance that might explain why he's been MIA for weeks, and has not yet graded midterms when the final project is due next week.
This has never happened before, so I'm not quite sure what to do. Maybe I've been lucky with other courses, but other mentors have always been reasonable with grading speed and responsiveness. The last time this mentor posted or did anything was August 30th, and though the midterm was taken during the week of August 15th and I confirmed with OTA that they forwarded the midterm to him on the 22nd, there is still no grade. Also, I emailed a question two weeks ago about the final project and have not yet received a response.
I'll do my best on the final project without the response, but is there a certain amount of time he has to post grades by? Should I call someone? If so, what office handles this sort of thing?

I am taking Computer Architecture and Environmental Science at TESC right now and this was mid-terms week.
I took the Comp Architecture midterm this week as a proctored exam and finished in 20 minutes. It was really not that hard after doing all of those assignments. Anyone considering taking the course should realize that the midterm is easier than the assignments, which can take hours to complete. It was a combination of true/false, matching, and some essay questions.
The Environmental Science midterm was also not that hard and I finished it in 30 minutes. It was done online through proctoru.com.
I am well over the hump now in these classes which is great. I stressed a lot about computer architecture right after I signed up but I used that stress to fuel my progress through the assignments.
I feel like I could have completed the entire computer science degree, hands down, no problem in one year if I had enrolled at TESC instead of USF way back in the day.
