Slimcustomer I don't think you should give up on sl acct 1. I actually was in the same boat as you till I started taking the tests. If you have the book you can pass these tests with flying colors after having prepared for the clep. Maybe you don't have the book. If that's the case have it overnighted now and you'll see what I'm talking about. Most of the questions can be answered by using the index to find the relevant section in the book and then scanning the text for the answers. You have to be relatively quick but you can do it in time.

I started the test taking process Saturday afternoon had a break for dinner and a buddy stopped by and I resumed with the midterm at around eight o'clock. I then kept on going till two am and now I'm much more ready for the sl acct two since i know howtoplay the game.

Book or no book, I still have struggled with the math problems. I know that sounds dumb, but some of the accounting formulas are totally difficult for me. I think it's a mental block. Thankfully I'll be doing macro and taking a break from accounting for at least a week or two. Ugh...I wish accounting weren't a prerequisite for the MBA program I really want to do.

I'm not giving up on Accounting at this point, but its a close call. I have the Accounting I book and I should finish up Accounting I today, but with the hour roughly it takes for me to finish a quiz plus the two hours it takes to finish an exam, this class is a time eater and I would have blown through the CLEP much easier if my experience with other CLEP's is any guide. Time is something I don't have a lot of. Plus, my grade is kind of sucky! I'm definitely going the ACE route instead of directly transferring my grade.

Someone please correct me if this is not accurate - (including Straighterline Team).

In my experience for having my paid subscription to Straighterline Accounting 1 at 12/10, there are graded quizzes for A through I, and 4 Graded Exams, or you have a different course presentation than I do, and may be seeing a different test scoring than I do.

With all due respect:

In my humble assessment of what I see;
This appears to be 9 graded quizzes on individual chapters and 4 Graded Exams. The Topics and Chapters do not match, and are not linear with combined book 6531.

That may be what you are running up against.

For example - see study guides in your course, these are mine:
Exam 1 = Ch 1,2,3
Exam 2 = Ch 4,8
Exam 3 = Ch 6,9,10
Exam 4 = Ch 7,11

This explains most of my original confusion for navigating through the course. See the light bulb over my head now?

I have no affiliation with the course. This course is not a gimmie, but with appropriate diligence and study, can be accomplished. I am glad for the opportunity, and would not have done this class for college credit otherwise.

The assignments also do not match the completion of the course.
Assignments = 1 to 11 - no grade.
Course = 1 to 15 for grade.

Good luck,
Popcorn

This Straighterline course helps us take the tests for the individual sections, to learn a piece at a time, one step at a time. This is a complex subject. This method is working for me, especially when I study daily instead of just on the weekends.

After taking test, see note to review test, scroll down, select OK, File, Print, and you can see your test results.

Best regards, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am now in the depths of accounting two. I passed exam one with a 100 exam two with a 95 the mid term with a 90 and exam 3 with an 85.
I need to study the remaining chapters for exam 4 then take that test plus the comprehensive final.
I expect to do this in the next couple of days.

You do not have to do any quizzes if you don't want to. Just take the retard when ready.

Ok I just finished accounting two with a 92 percent. I think it was easier than accounting 1 since it has fewer debit and credit oriented topics and more theory.
So that makes two accounting classes in a few days plus a few days off and on of studying for the clep financial accounting test.

There is a pattern to the straighter line accounting tests and once you pick it up you should have a much easier time.

Now I'm off to study finance, ugh.

Great job and I'm glad to hear that there is more theory. Hopefully that will make it easier once I get to accounting 2.

I'm going on to chapter 2 in Macro. Unfortunately there is a 40 question test at the end of each chapter, so this may take a while. The good news is that I am studying micro on IC every night and already know some about macro, so I feel more comfortable with the subject.

Yeah there is a 30 percent overlap with macro and micro.
I clepped those and they were my firstclep experience. The rea book was good for those.
Good luck with straighter line.
