I have to say that I am biased vut i recommend tesc to anyone looking for a business major. There are a couple of reasons like it's a state school, there is no capstone, they are very generous with licenses and credit transfer and the cost is reasonable once you get over the one time enrollment fee.
Why not pay the 75 to apply and get an academic eval of your credits. The path to the tesc baba is a well traveled one and you will get a lot of support here.
Exelsior is similar and a fine choice but you don't have to take a single class with tesc so that's a huge bonus to me.
Yes your clep credits show up on your transcript as a cr grade, not letter grade. Its silly to take classes in something you can study for and test out of.

I feel your pain times two, but the end result (two students graduating my son and myself is well worth the cost). Seriously, its been quite a journey but I too, just paid TESC for my son's out-of-state tuition and my own out-of-state tuition. Overall, both of us are graduating at a cost of under $10,000.00 (not bad).

This stuff gets expensive when you near the end. I have been happily plodding along in CLEP,DSST,Aleks and StraighterLine which are all cheap in my opinion.
PennFoster is reasonable but I had to pay for 6 credit hours to get 3 in system analysis and design due to the fact that those courses are only ace approved for 2 and 1 credits.
The good news is that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.
I'm mostly done with my CIS major, its all in taking some final tests and filling in some super easy business electives and wrestling with TESC to give me credit for ALEKs Business Stats and to recognize my old MCSE certification.
I'm going to go get a beer now.
My local college charges $300 per credit. Twenty-eight hundred wouldn't buy you 1 full time semester
Think of it this way, divide the twenty-eight hundred by 120 credits, and figure that TESC is getting about $24 per credit plus whatever you paid. Still the best deal in town!
(and have a garage sale lol!! Plus a little ebay and some extra work hours. That's how I bought my enrollment fee)

It is a great deal. It does hurt to throw down that 2800 bucks though. I love TESC and recommend it to everyone despite the aggravation with slow transcript updates and other customer service issues.

That is AWESOME. Truth be told. One must be bright enough to test out of CLEP so I don't think it should be looked at any differently than other traditional-route colleges. From what I have seen, employers don't know much about the Big 3 (other than a little about Excelsior) and everyone I know who has graduated from there has gone on to have a decent career.
