Any courses taken at UMPI that are LL will count towards your degree; however, they will not meet the 30 credits UL requirement at UMPI. The BABA doesn't have a 30 UL credit requirement. I have the BABA and didn't have to worry about 30 UL credits. RE: BABA Upper Level vs Lower Level Courses - KSoul - 01-01-2023 I am open to being a one-course requirement off; however, 27 UL credits (9 courses) are required as stated on their website, and claiming you didn't have to worry about UL requirements for the BABA is misleading to a new student. Or, my sister and I, by guidance from our advisor and perhaps fate, ended up with 10 UL courses for our BABA degrees. We have not received our degrees as of yet, so we might have been a little early with the degree completion celebrations. *An easy way to check on the UL course count per concentration (outside of the requirement) is to review the YourPace Degree breakdown on the UMPI website. It shows the levels for each course required. The BABA Management & Leadership only has 9 UL courses. Same with Project Management as BUS359 isn't available or required. Same with Supply Chain Management. They're all 9 UL courses. I was never told a thing about UL courses for my BABA. With my BLS, the UL credits are a big deal. The BA in English with Professional Journalism has even fewer UL courses. Remember that very little info on the UMPI website pertains to YourPace. RE: BABA Upper Level vs Lower Level Courses - KSoul - 01-01-2023 You were never told because 9 UL courses are already locked and loaded with your degree as with mine (same degree in Management & Leadership) as was with my sister's Project Management. The OP was asking about BABA not Ba in English or other degrees outside of BABA. Agree on your website share minus if you select YourPace and degree breakdown which is specific to YourPace degrees. Overall, I am not looking to have this a thing at all. RE: BABA Upper Level vs Lower Level Courses - KSoul - 01-02-2023 To all in the thread, my sister popped me in the head for this one. Even after I posted the link with the clear details of the UMPI guidelines, I still conflated the facts due to focusing on the financials. When building my plan, I always focused on the cost and, per the number, UL courses at UMPI would be the cheapest route to go and fastest because all UL transfer options (outside of a few assignments options at SDC) would be more complex and create an additional cost to complete your degree. Somehow that turned into the best way/requirement. The only mental connection I can make is how Biology at SDC or Chem at Sophia is the option to take because UMPI's Biology is a nightmare. Now turn that into there is a requirement not to take Biology at UMPI. Yes, muddy logic because when you have a brain block (mental bias), all you have is the comfort of mud. Apologies for the confusion and for providing clarity and then creating more confusion. I am now going to ice my head for a bit. Best wishes for the week. That was my point. Most of the BABA's have 27 UL credits and the BA in English has even less. So whatever is on the UMPI website may not apply to the YourPace degrees which we often see. I was thinking earlier today that you probably had become fixated on some detail. I have hyper-fixation issues. I'm looking forward to getting my BABA started. I'm a couple classes away right now from having finished 16 courses on Sophia in one month which has been a lot of work lol. RE: BABA Upper Level vs Lower Level Courses - EducationSeeker - 01-03-2023 (01-01-2023, 07:52 PM)KSoul Wrote: Sophia is heavily recommended due to cost and ease minus the English 1 & 2 courses at Sophia, which are considerably longer than the UMPI options. This is why it is universally agreed upon in the forum to take English 1 & 2 at UMPI.KSoul, Thanks for the on taking the additional UL course through SDC course since he could take BIO101L and another Business Course during his 30 day membership at SDC. Do you recommend any other SDC UL business courses that he could take? I was looking at another degree plan that someone listed for the BABA Mgmt and Leadership concentration in YourPace and I was thinking that SDC Mgmt courses like Mgmt 310 Advanced Business Ethics, BUS 304 Leading Organizational Change, BUS 306 Strategic Human Resource Mgmt, or Business 309 Digital Marketing & Advertising might all be good courses to transfer to UMPI. Thoughts? Thanks, EducationSeeker RE: BABA Upper Level vs Lower Level Courses - ss20ts - 01-03-2023 BUS306 & 309 are both exams at UMPI. I wouldn't take them on Study. Also keep in mind how many assignments there are in each Study course. UMPI is 1 assignment and that's it. RE: BABA Upper Level vs Lower Level Courses - KSoul - 01-03-2023 You're welcome...The leading choice should fall on the assignment count for those courses in SDC. If there is more than one assignment, then your son would be able to complete the course faster at UMPI. I don't have access to confirm the assignment count without an active account; however, I believe the course below has one assignment. Just click on those you listed or the one below, and it's an easy confirmation of the assignment count. 312 Advanced Operations Management BUS transferred in as 415 Operations Management and was a manageable course at SDC. |
