It's a new program, no one knows how the transfers are going to be like, most likely it'll be either Masters plus Doctoral classes, or just Doctoral classes that can be transferred into the program. Someone would need to ask the institution if they're really that interested in the program...

1.This is a brand new program - no graduates

2.This may be a better fit for MBAs. I have a master in legal studies and will complete a masters in hospitality management in August and have only been given initial transfer credit for four classes. (if I really pursued it I could perhaps get more).

TBH, if they would have approved me for max amount of transfer credits I'd sign up now. That being said from what I gather from admissions most DBA classes will be taught by one faculty memeber. So even with a high amount of transfer credit you may have to wait for classes you need to be taught. I'll still consider this program but, it may not be the right fit for my purposes. Also, they wouldnt commit to letting me ride a horse at graduation.

They're accepting masters-level transfer credits?

Having only 1 faculty member for all of the DBA classes just isn't realistic. I'm definitely interested in this program, but how can it be a 12 month program with 1 professor? That poor person will be burnt out in no time.

If Degree Forum floods them with students, they'll be forced to hire more instructors. LOL

TBH, at doctoral distance programs this small a good chunk of the classes could just be crosslisted master's classes or, like at troy's PHD sports management program, all your electives are straight master's classes.

How would the transfer work for this program? Would a completed MBA from WGU get 50% of coursework waived?

I agree with BJ. Just reach out they are trying to fill up this first cohort still.

UPDATE:

Because this program is so new, there is no way to accelerate it currently. Transfer credits will just give you gaps in classwork. This may not be a big deal to many folks, but for anyone who needs full-time status for financial aid, this could pose an issue.

Also, there is no funding for conference travel or presentations. This isn't a big surprise, either, but it is nice when schools offer this.

How is the program going?

Yeah, I'm in my 5th course  and Have 3 more to take over the summer. Ended up adding an extra course to my roration  so I can get one the newly added PhD track. If all goes according to plan I'll finish in dcember for a total of just under fourteen months (I had a program gap Fall 24 term C).

How much did you end up paying and transferred in?

Tuition shows as $21,060 one year and $39,780 up to two years, not bad if you can finish in the year!

I wonder how hackable it may be using ENEB

I asked ChatGPT whether or not credits from an MBA could be used to satisfy some of the coursework requirements as transfer credit. It said yes. But it would be a good idea to discuss one's individual situation with a representative of the school.
